What's your latest purchase?
Tommy and 2 others reacted to kidamnesiac for a topic
Upgrades. The previous owner wanted $250. I talked him down to $200. When I went to check it out, there was some crackling and one of the channels was cutting in and out so we went down to $150. Turns out the balance pot just needed to be cleaned. Thanks DeOxit!3 points -

Wow, so they have not yet sent out your record ONE business day after it was supposed to be released (where you don't even know if they already have them in hand) and you are already bugging them? Did you consider that the time it takes them to get back to you could be better spent packing someone else's order?Relax man, you will get your records. Better stick with Amazon if you can't wait a few days.2 points

Look at all you guys comparing your vinyl sizes. It's not about size. It's about how you use it.. or listen to it, I mean.2 points -
I agree, but double 10 can hold more. That's why they do it.2 points

New Envy LP up for pre-order on the Temporary Residence site! Two colour variants. http://shop.temporaryresidence.com/trr2591 point -
I'm being let go from my job on the 30th (which also happens to be my birthday; what a great B-day present, right?), and as of right now, I have nothing lined up after that. I have enough left in my savings to keep me going for about a month, maybe two if I starve myself, but that's it. In honor of this momentous occasion, I'm selling some of the rarer records in my collection to keep my head above the water until I'm gainfully employed. Or until I win the lottery, whichever comes first. Now that that's out of the way, time for some ground rules: Since I have a very limited number of mailers, I'll list one record at a time, and will accept offers for a few days. Best offer gets the record. Serious offers only, no trades. PayPal only; no gifting, buyer pays fees. International offers will be considered, if the price is right (offer in USD, please). Also, please don't offer if you have less than 100 posts or two positive feedback scores as a buyer, or a decent amount of feedback from another site. With the influx of new people from the RSD frenzy, I want to make sure I'm doing business with a reputable buyer. Pretty straightforward, right? ------------ This time, it's my copy of The Devil Wears Prada - With Roots Above and Branches Below on purple vinyl! Played two, maybe three times total. Both sides and the bottom of the inner sleeve have been split, but from what I gather, that isn't uncommon with this particular album and the record still stays inside. The outer sleeve is in very good condition, with minor shelf wear. I'm gonna take offers on this until next Monday (May 4) at midnight EST. Also, I can post a picture or two if y'all want to see. Only reason I didn't already is because I...well, I didn't think about it before updating the post, honestly.1 point

That is true. At one point, they made 16 rpm LPs for this kind of thing too (since fidelity isn't a huge issue). My point was mainly that it would probably be a minimum of 4-5 LPs for a novel, which would probably turn most people off (even if they were fairly cheap). Looks like the complete new testament fits on 26 7"s! Hallelujah! http://www.discogs.com/Various-Holy-Bible-The-Complete-New-Testament/release/38419281 point -
Copying all the user names tonight. Will probably do the drawing tomorrow. I have to go through my vinyl and see what I have dupes of so the winners know what they can choose from. Thanks, everyone!1 point

i just ordered the "repress" I should have it tomorrow. I can listen to it and let you know how it sounds. If it sounds good, perhaps you can email TMR and ask them if they'd swap it out due to bad sound quality.1 point -

Finally home from work, no time to spin it yet, but here's a pic of it: I also do have the 2010 Epic repress on black vinyl,I'll try listening closely to both of them when I find the time. A gatefold jacket would've been nice but oh well, the printed inner sleeves are pretty and clear vinyl is just the best.1 point

Exactly this. If it is a sealed LP I advise that if you want it shipped outside of the mailer, to leave it in the notes. Also this. I use 1 and 1 or 2 pieces of bubble wrap. Depends on the weight of the record.1 point
-
sometimes using cardboard fillers can add a bit to shipping, (esp. overseas), and the whole point of using cardboard/bubble wrap is to make it so the record doesn't slip around in the mailer. Both ways work.1 point
