Was out of town today and picked up Mark Kozelek Sings Christmas Carols on white vinyl. Won't spin it until November haha.

Dude, they have 1 LP, a demo EP, and like two splits. It'll take like 45 minutes of your life to hear everything they've done.

$80 is absolutely insane. That's 40 dollars short of what the average working man makes in a day.... or slightly more than what somebody makes on an 8 hour minimum wage shift. I understand that it's out of 500 and a good way for the band to make money (presuming the band is actually getting a decent percentage of the sale)... so part me of wants to wait on the price on the black version is before bitching. But I just don't see how $80 is in any way justifiable by anything other than pure corporate greed. Makes me grateful that a high percentage of my favorite modern (past 10 years) bands are on independent labels.

I cannot buy another $70 record from Australia...

I found a youtube video of two runs through the song and i definitely could listen to that for at least an hour. I do appreciate how mad this art piece is continuing to make people.

its probably based on anticipated turnout, the promoter/agent probably negotiate what a "sellout" sits at, the room has the legal capacity for 2034, but for "smaller" (LOL) tours, 1,000 is probably more than enough. Promoters also budget differently for staff and everything based on ticket sale potential, so a 2000 cap room would require more staff than 1000 cap room, even if they're in the same room.

I have this and I gotta say that the drums hit so damn hard. Best drums I've ever heard on vinyl, hands down. Sounds like you're at one of their shows.

I just fixed a friend's beogram 4002 that had similar problems. First the tonearm wouldn't raise or lower at all, then it wouldn't snap back up fast enough to not drag across a record when the tonearm assembly was returning at the end of play. It was as simple as getting down into the solenoids and cleaning off the old caked-on grease and adding a drop of singer oil to it along with the other moving parts. Had to remove one c-clip that was really gummed up, but overall it was a pretty simple fix.

Within the last couple of weeks I've picked up/bought: Newbury variant of Three Cheers by My Chemical Romance PO - S/T by The Story So Far (plus a sweet poster and tank top that I bundled with it) PO - Everybody Is Going to Heaven by Citizen and finally decided to pick up Real Talk on vinyl by Man Overboard from RFC's web store because the current variant looks amazing, but I won't be getting that until my PO from Citizen ships. Gonna be a fun summer of PO's and new records:)

My only problem with the Nightsatan release is that the fucking cardboard sleeves are too thick. I can't get the damn record into 'em. Everything else about it is spectacular though.

What you're doing is the same as going to a show for a band where you've only heard their latest record but it blew you away. So much so that you go out of your way to obnoxiously tell everyone else there how awesome the band is but only in a way that shows you really like the band but don't know any of their other music. Everyone at the show already likes the band and they're excited, but you're over excessive to the point where it doesn't look like genuine joy anymore. I'm sure ALL of us have vinyl boners/bonerettes but damn man, put it away. I get it, you've seen the light and that's great... but the light you're looking at is a dim flickering bulb compared to the bright spotlight the media is capable of producing. I guess you can take something positive from my post, if you like what you hear now wait 'til you start upgrading your setup and you'll be in heaven.
