    width of records

Sorry sir for all the frustration this thread has caused. I have taken the time to do some solid calculations, and used your helpful graph as well: After intense pondering I have come to the conclusion that a stack of 50 records is the same width as a single record. Proof: I am sorry the rest of the board wasn't as willing to help. I hope you find this information useful. Next!

Why would you suppose any of us know this off the top of our heads? We are not carpenters, nor do we collect records to stack them 50 high to measure them This is why your question is not being taken seriously. Another reason, as I and others have shown, is that this information can be easily found with the tiniest bit of research, which as the person responsible for creating this storage, we'd think you'd be interested in putting the effort forth to find. Rather than wasting YOUR time making annoying comments at those of us here to not discuss carpentry, why don't you go to a record store or goodwill store or pound some keyboard keys and find your own answer?

  14. also, drank a lambic from 1957 tonight. super interesting stuff. It was oxidized but not overly so, and not aggressively sour. With the plum oxidation and fruity apricot sourness, it actually made me think of those weird little Pluot fruits. real tasty

  15. I still need convincing as to why I should use this instead of eBay or discogs. It's missing the nice categorization that discogs has, so it's not comparable there. From what it looks like to me, it's just a more specific eBay (or just the music section of eBay). I get that there's no fees, which is nice, but most likely not sustainable. Besides that, I'm not sure why this stands apart. If this was being launched 20 years ago it might be interesting and worthwhile, now it's just unnecessary. I'm all for people trying to create a new marketplace, but there has to be a reason why it exists out and should be used. DuckDuckGo is a good example of that. They created a search engine with some features that Google isn't offering and they're getting decent traffic. If this marketplace wants to be used, it needs to offer something other sites cannot. VC will shit on a product that isn't useful or necessary. There's a thread for an Android app front-end for discogs that's had plenty of nice things said in it, but that's also something there appears to be a demand for. Regarding those last comments : I do not care about Brand New. I know how to write code. I still thing this is unnecessary.

  16. OP remember this: even if by the end of its spool your project turns out to be duplicate waste, at least you tried to create something. The problem with VC is they get a hurt pussy when there's no Brand New involved, and most seem like they couldn't write a line of code if they wanted to, so advertising anything here is a waste of time

Hi Matt! I'm the friend from Portland that Scott Heisel mentioned above. Before attending his wedding I did indeed drive all the way to Warren, Ohio to see the town where Dave Grohl grew up... and the ridiculous alley behind the Burger King that is dedicated to him. I have to say, it was totally worth the 2 hour round trip. So, as a big fan of Dave and the Foo Fighters I'd like to formally throw my hat into the ring. I've been a fan of Dave Grohl since the Nirvana days. While all the girls and boys were fawning over Kurt Cobain, I was quitely crushing over that amazingly talented drummer with the toothy smile. His sense of humor and kindess over the years has only intensified my crush. But... not in a scary way or anything. He is just the best, and I can't help but adore the man. I don't really have a heartfelt story to share. So, I'll just tell this one: Back in 2000 when I lived in Chicago I was unable to get tickets to the sold out Foo Fighters Halloween radio show with Queens of the Stoneage at The Metro, which I'm not sure if you know is a really small venue for a band of their size. I was heart broken and did everything I could think of to get tickets. When the radio station announced that their sponsor, Budweiser, would be holding events at bars all over the city where you could win tickets I made sure to attend every. single. one. I did some things I'm not proud of in attempt to win those tickets; and after seeing me every night one of the Budweiser reps took pity on me and gave me VIP passes to the event! The night of the show came and a friend and I went early and made sure to get barricade. The Foos came out dressed as Cheap Trick and played "Hello There", and we were front and center, so Dave Grohl was about 10 feet away! I was in heaven. Later in the set when they played "Stacked Actors" Dave started wandering around the venue with his guitar as he is known to do; climbing up into the balcony, drinking someones beer, guitar soloing on the sound board and then eventually right inbetween my friend and I at the front of the floor. We helped him over the barricade back onto the stage... and I got a handful of Dave Grohl butt. I was super fangirling. It was a fantastic show and worth all of my efforts. A+++ would do it all again. That's it. I would never say that I deserve to see them over anyone else, but I can assure you that if you chose me I would be there singing and sweating right along with you like we were a couple of teenagers. Oh, and if you're wondering why I don't already have a ticket to the show... it's simple... none of my Portland friends are willing to go with me, and going to a show alone is teh suck. So, at the very minimum if i could meet other Foo fans to attend future shows with, that'd be pretty cool. Thanks for reading, Lisa P.S. Here is a super cool photo of me at Dave Grohl Alley attempting to do that awkward pose that guys do in front of their cars.

I think you should clarify if it's just the record or record and jacket or record and jacket and sleeve...what kind of sleeve ... But....if u r just sticking to record are they all the same record....what are the weights of the records....120gm,140gm,180gm,200gm...etc Are they flat lip or round edges.... Are we talking 33 1/3rds, 45s, 78s.... As you can see this is not just a simple answer....sooooo many variables!!!

  48. Since I posted earlier in this thread about Senor Coconut, I thought I'd do a follow up post regarding a record I bought today. Haven't listened to this yet but it appears to be the precursor to Senor Coconut from 1969. I'm expecting some ultra-sexy time music from this one! Genuine Electric Latin Love Machine "Persuasive" Electronics by Richard Hayman. I think I'm gonna persuade some ladies to drop their pants with this one. I also purchased Country Moog: Switched On Nashville. I was going to post an image of this as well but while I was posting this, Folsom Prison Blues came on and I figured I'd link the song instead because it's amazing:
