Emperor - Complete Works Box Set
jerseydave77 and 2 others reacted to bloodmusic for a topic
Yes, as some have stated, this is a one-person label. I have never not shipped someone's order. This is also not my first foray into large box sets, it's my third. And overall it's my fifth box set release ever. Quite frankly, there is nothing to worry about. But, I understand people will worry even if I say that. The main points are that I have been doing this now for several years, tons of releases, and even some similar stuff. Also, this is a legally registered business within Finland, and the entire company would fall into a tailspin of legal complications if I decided not to comply with my own sales terms, completely ruining the label or any future opportunities for myself or my artists. Also, I spent 2,5 years designing and building this set, the final parts are put it for sale, wait for the manufacturing to finish, and shipping them out. Basically, the most difficult work is done. There are no reasons for me to flake on the set whatsoever because the downsides for not following through are far worse than actually just putting it for sale and finishing it. Here is the full 3D mock of the marble edition. Emperor "The Complete Works" Box Set - MARBLE EDITION Transparent blue base with black marble vinyl. Limited to 222 copies. 50 center labels 26 heavyweight inner sleeves 24 heavyweight LPs 10 heavyweight triple-gatefold jackets 4 heavy card stock inserts 3 posters 1 heavyweight 7" 1 92-page hardcover book 1 heavyweight 7" gatefold jacket 1 two-part heavy-board outer box 1 slipmat 1 cassette tape (for 2015 orders only) 1 signed lyrics sheet (for 2015 orders only) * Please note that the records are pressed by hand with actual physical materials, so the amount of marbling will vary from record to record.3 points -

I'm sure I'll get massive down posts for this, but I honestly don't care. I thought this GoHastings sale thing was a total glitch and everything would be canceled, it happened recently on Amazon when a seller had their entire inventory discounted due to a "glitch", and they requested canceling all the records I ordered, which I agreed to. When I saw the GoHastings shit start popping up thanks to posts on here, I ended up ordering 6 - Enimem box sets and 4 - Bruce box sets thinking they would all be canceled, with the hope something would squeeze through on error. I missed out on a few things I wish I had ordered but I went to be while the feeding frenzy ensued which I wish I had ordered, thinking everything would be canceled and sleep was better. I have received shipping and tracking on all 10 orders. I'll believe it when I see it.2 points -

Didn't see anyone post about either of these things yet, apologies if I missed the threads already: http://newdamagerecords.myshopify.com/products/cancer-bats-through-through-through Limited to 250 copies, it's their cover of Joel Plaskett's "Through & Through & Through." Dunno what their version sounds like but here's the original: Also, the band recently tweeted that they found a few more copies of Hail Destroyer on white vinyl—this has been out of print for a while: http://www.kt8merch.com/store/pages/27891/____CANCER_BATS_-Hail_Destroyer-_White_Vinyl_LP.htm1 point -

Started December 1 on my new training program for racing next year. Fuck complacency. Feeling pretty good overall. Still not 100% from the end of my heavy season but I'm mixing in more bike and swimming again and my body is digging it. Hoping to do my first 25 mile week in a while this week and get climbing back to marathon shape for May 1. Might run the half in Philly again in early April if anyone else is planning to be there.1 point -

bunch of remixes don't even ask original band's permission - if the band likes it, it could stay, but if it sucks the band could push to get it removed from websites and other services as a copyright violation. others are friends, label mates, and acquaintances of the band that get to play around with their track and they publish the good ones. some are purposeful collaborations to yield revenue. if tycho specifically requested an artist to remix one of their tracks, then i'm pretty sure some type of royalty / song credit agreement is in place. this might also be self-funded, as i don't see any label affiliation which could explain the price and preorder window.1 point

Is his name Canadia? If so, he has sold roughly about four Wintersleep albums in the past few days. I know I bought both the first and second album off him, and another member here purchased one too. I honestly want to believe that I am going to get these albums, but the more he sells, the more wary I am of his account considering he has zero feedback.1 point -

ShipCon on Thirsday, arrived today (SoCal). Black is beautiful. All the instruments come off very well, for some reason I'm enjoying the cymbals the most. Recorded very well. Overall crackle throughout, but I've been hearing that on lots of my records lately, may need to examine my cleaning method or needle health, or just dry here lately (static). So happy it's here!! Oh, and got those raffle tickets. Includes lyrics to Song Silly (in English) and Commit Ballad (in Japanese).1 point -

I don't often comment on here, but statements like these make me cringe. ITR is a consistently fantastic label. Not only do they remain committed to putting out killer releases, but in the increasing age of "limited edition" releases by labels who refuse to even acknowledge a pressing number, ITR remains true to their tradition of 200 colored copies at the same price as the standard editions. As well, though I don't know him personally, all communications / questions / emails I've ever had with Larry have been friendly and informative-- truly I'd describe him as a label owner who recognizes and appreciates dedicated fans of the label. "Really don't know what we spent $80 on"? You spent $80 on EXACTLY what was advertised. A limited edition pressing of the new Fuzz record on gold vinyl, limited to 300 copies, with a cover and poster unique to this release. Based on that description, did you really think this was going to cost $75 to produce? My assumption is that the high price was partially intended to cut down on flippers / a "middle man" market. It gets a lot of the money many would have spent on the secondary market (if this had been priced at say $30 and snatched up by those intending to flip) DIRECTLY to the label, which will be funneled right back into putting out more kick ass music. Larry clearly recognizes the popularity of Ty / Fuzz right now and is using that to generate funds for his label (300 copies is still extremely limited for a group as popular as Fuzz) while also cutting down on the number of people profiting off of flipped copies... obviously, the higher price will not eliminate flippers, but it has to have helped cut down a bit and ITR is still able to get a limited edition into the hands of collectors. Bottom line: If sending a extra money to a label I love (and who has provided me with countless great records / limited editions over the years) and keeping that money away from someone on discogs flipping a copy for 3-4 times the cost = getting ripped off that's a pretty sad comment on the state of record collecting these days.1 point
