  4. Because you obviously don't understand your own ignorance or care about the comfort of those around you.I'm not even going to go into the racial undertones of the word that you are using so flippantly. So I'm just going to assume you're a fucking idiot. Edit: it's Eric? Never fucking mind

  7. Probably the main reason I log into VC and post. There aren't many people in my personal life that share the same level of excitement I do about new music releases, and it can be nice to share the hype with similarly-stoked individuals. I love random album releases and pre-orders, but it's also fun to scope threads like these where updates are imminent. There's a vague bit of Christmas Eve in the air.

  8. Ahh, now you see where that apple image is from... Cherry has 8 tracks. Shadow has 6 tracks. The package also had two of those giant cinematic posters in it.

  9. One frame: Sealed. One frame: Unsealed, pull record out 3/4 of the way. One shadowbox: Vertical record player queued up to play it, power cord and A/V cables hanging out to be used for only a single play on your deathbed.

Good thing you don't have to put your VC rep on your resume. Just log in on the mobile site, the reputation system doesn't even exist here.

  14. Because it's inappropriate and childish to use that word, even without the -er in almost any context. If it's being used to intimidate or try to make someone angry, there is no difference in the -a vs -er version, and if you're using it to indicate friendship, the people you are addressing it to in this case are not familiar enough that you should be using that word as a pet term of endearment. If my buddy Curt was to say, "what's up, my nigga?" I would take it as a compliment, and a term of endearment. When you say it, not being familiar enough with me to use such a term, it comes across as foolish and pseudo-combative. If we go into the argument of "taking back the word," then I still don't find it appropriate. For example, if a homosexual walked into a room full of people and said "what's up, faggots?" No one would find that endearing. In the same way, we don't find your use of a derogatory term that is sometimes used within a specific cultural group (of which many of us are not a part) to denote friendship, appropriate. There are very few instances that word does not make you seem ignorant, and those instances are often private moments, not public, such as this forum. Or, to quote Marty Keating, "Shut your mouth and stop spilling stupid all over the rest of us." Please excuse typos and misspellings, I'm on mobile.

  18. Update on FB: ALEXISONFIRE - LIVE AT COPPS + MONEEN - ARE WE REALLY HAPPY UPDATE: The bands and the entire Dine Alone team have worked extremely hard on these two releases. Unfortunately we have experienced many delays in production and it has put us behind schedule. Our most recent update from the plant has indicated that we are looking at an early 2016 release for each. We know you’ve been waiting very patiently. We’re incredibly sorry for the inconvenience. Furthermore we’re working to add something special for these pre-orders. Expect more updates in the near future. Thank you for sticking with us through these delays. Dine Alone & AOF & The Neeners

  24. // TOP 15 POST-ROCK ALBUMS // 1. Caspian : Tertia // 2009 2. pg.lost : Key // 2012 3. Gifts From Enola : From Fathoms // 2009 4. If These Trees Could Talk: Above The Earth, Below The Sky // 2009 5. This Will Destroy You : Young Mountain // 2006 6. Kokomo : Kokomo // 2013 7. Slint : Spiderland // 1991 8. té : ゆえに、密度の幻想は綻び、蹌踉めく世界は明日を『忘却』す。(Thus, the Illusion of Density Comes Apart at the Seems) // 2012 9. Year Of No Light : Nord // 2006 10. Toe : The Book About My Idle Plot On A Vague Anxiety // 2005 11. *shels : Plains of The Purple Buffalo // 2011 12. Beware of Safety : Leaves/Scars // 2011 13. Earth : The Bees Made Honey In The Lion's Skull // 2008 14. Toundra : II // 2009 15. Red Sparowes : At Soundless Dawn // 2005 This list only took me a bit cause I wasn't going strictly instrumental. If I were, it would have been a lot easier. There is so much good post-rock out there floating around that I had to sit down and consider a lot. I also had to pick my absolute favorite release per artist cause I didn't want to repeat any. Honorable mentions: God Is An Astronaut : All Is Violent, All Is Bright // 2005 (16th) * Deadhorse : We Can Create Our Own World // 2010 (17th) Giants : Old Stories // 2008 (18th) ** Mono : For My Parents // 2012 Jakob : Solace // 2006 *** Glaciers : And The Sea Won The Battle // 2009 Set & Setting : Equanimity // 2013 Russian Circles : Station // 2008 Pelican : Australasia // 2003 Moving Mountains : Foreward // 2008 The Shaking Sensations : Start Stop Worrying // 2013 sleemakeswaves : ...And So We Destroyed Everything // 2013 ◯ : Black Sea of Trees // 2012 ^ Shy, Low : Hiraeth // 2015 Oak : Not Afraid Anymore // 2012 * / ** / *** - Really weird to not have this in my top fifteen. Especially being that this and YATC were my gateway albums into post-rock. But I didn't want this turning into a 'gateway' list, so they dropped down a bit. I sadly don't listen to this album as much as I used to after there being a decade of other post-rock that's come out since then, in additional to 'new' stuff to me. ^ - I think this band / album is incredibly under-rated. If you haven't heard them, change that: https://o-music.band...-sea-of-trees-2 *********************************************************************** I can make you a Spotify playlist if that's easier.

  25. Props to the kid in the Portland Hot Topic for giving me 1 of the 2 copies they got of The Get Up Kids repress. One was on hold for someone and this was his copy. He began to explain how he already has the CD and would let me buy it. Pretty cool kid.
