  8. Interesting. Did you write to [email protected] and mention that you received a damaged jacket, send a photo of the vinyl, or ask any form of polite question, directly? If so, did he not respond withing a day or two with an equally polite, rather helpful note? Did he not answer your questions, offer to mail you a replacement jacket or any other kind of out-of-pocket solution that cost you not a dime? Or... did you get your nose out of joint and make a post here, casting aspersions? Was the box flimsy and packed poorly... or was it heavy weight with extra cardboard / filler? Did the USPS damage a perfectly reasonably packed box, perhaps? Do you live in Chicago, an apartment complex, or in any other situation where there was anyone handling the box, post USPS? We have received (as far as I am aware) exactly zero messages from people with damaged Ship Thieves records. That is nice, but when shipping 250 records... you'd expect one or two to get sat on by USPS, although they are generally rather kind in their handling overall. The bottom line is that you are bummed because you brought to the table your love for Wollard and Ship Thieves, which of course we share. It's important to you... and you were looking forward to a certain experience, opening your box and casting eyes on your new record for the first time. That is understandable... and I salute you! Allow us to help you. Drop a note to [email protected] Save the drama for offline, please. And perhaps consider that most labels releasing a pretty-limited-version of a new album by a pretty-well-regarded band would have sold it for $5 to $11 more, if not made it a fixed part of a $50 bundle. You're welcome!

  26. Here are a bunch, some are cheapish pre-orders, and a couple 3rd party deals. Lightsabres – Hibernation $20.17 Mirror Travel – Cruise Deal $13.41 The Besnard Lakes – A Coliseum Complex Museum $18 Not sure why there are 2 listings for this lp, but this one is $11 cheaper than the other. It does say that it will ship in 1 – 2 months though, whereas the other appears as in stock Dead Kennedys – Plastic Surgery Disasters/In God We Trust $11.27, Frankenchrist $11.89 Hinds – Leave Me Alone $18.99, The Best of Hinds So Far $7.99 Sonic Youth – Goo $17.99 Wintersleep – The Great Detachment $15.49 The Saddest Landscape – Darkness Forgives $13.99 The Paper Kites – twelvefour (Purple) $20.99 Daughter – Not to Disappear $17.99 3rd Party Grant Nicholas – Yorktown Heights $8.61 I order from this seller and got a signed ltd 180 gr white copy. There is also this one which may be the black, but I’m not sure. Either way, it is a amazing album at a great price. Do yourself a favour and get it. Yucatan – Uwch Gopa’r Mynydd $13.68 Stunning album, these guys are called a Welsh Sigur Ros. There are some similarities, but they are by no means a rip off.

  30. It's because I snag em all .. Jk the only Bowie record I found at a thrift shop was the orange label dynaflex Ziggy stardust at savers in nashua last year. It slightly skips once during the first track but other than that it's a listenable copy. Wouldn't mind a better one though

  31. With all respect, these are all cool tapes that are incredible albums in their own right — give 'em a listen! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ There's not gonna be any "cool" tapes in this series. That's not the point of it. We don't release music because it's cool or what people like or whatever. We work with the artists we do because they're doing something worthwhile. I want to highlight truly great things that fly under the radar with this series. Sorry if this statement seems brash or confrontational — it's just something I'm pretty passionate about.

  37. if you have an opportunity to eat a roberta's pizza, always always always say yes. i live right by roberta's and get delivery from them more often than i should (because fuck waiting 2 hours for a table when i can eat delicious pizza on my couch and not even have to put on pants). i've tried most of their pizzas, but my go-to is always the bee sting. it's got sopressata, chili and honey all atop a perfectly charred crust. it is truly amazing. i mean. look at this thing. i might just have to order one for dinner now.

  40. Stoked for this. New song sounds a lot more world music-y like All Hour Cymbals than the last two albums. Fragrant World really grew on me. It's definitely close to dethroning Odd Blood as my fav of theirs. Love the way this band expands their sound with each LP. In other news, the dance in the video is hot. Gotta learn it.
