  2. Thanks to Deoxitizer for the offer of handling a big shipment. Will see if this can be worked closer to the time. Happy to say that barring last minute emergencies, I will be in the queue from the early hours this year. Have found some prices and a little more information on UK releases. Details on things people have asked for: Lush - Origami: £86.99 (500. Possibly just the number in the UK) Ian Brown - Solarized: £25.99 Clint Mansell & Kronos Quartet - Requiem For A Dream Soundtrack: £31.99 NGHFB - El Mexicano: £15.99 Pinkshinyultrablast: £18.99 (500) Nirvana - Live On Kaos FM: £19.99 (500) Architects - Lost Forever/Lost Together: £21.99 (1000 worldwide; 400 UK) Ginger Wildheart - From G*A*S*S With Love: £16.99 (1000) Hozier - Take Me To The Church: £12.99 The Levellers - A Weapon Called The Word: £19.99 Bardo Pond - Acid Guru Pond: £28.99 (1000) Mew - And The Glass Handed Kites: £20.99 (2000 worldwide. Will look for more info as my source says two different colours; pink & silver) The Adverts - Crossing The Red Sea: £26.99 The Adverts - Cast Of Thousands: £19.99 Beach Slang - Broken Thrills: £18.99 Blond Redhead - Peel Sessions: £9.99 Clutch - Elephant Riders: £19.99 Parkway Drive - Horizons: £21.99 (400 for the UK. No idea for the world. Don't hold your breath people). Neon Indian - Psychic Chasms: £24.99 (500) Dark Tranquillity - Fiction: £29.99 (1000) Jack Off Jill - Sexless Demons and Scars: £19.99 (500) Jack Off Jill - Clear Hearts Grey Flowers: £23.99 (500) Sia - The We Meaning You Tour Live: £19.99 (1000) Wednesday 13 - Monsters Of The Universe: £23.99 (500) Mike Oldfield - Nuclear: £14.99 Roo Panes - Little Giant: £19.99 These prices are not from the store I use. Some may be more, some may be less. My final, backup store charges significantly more which is why I only go there if I have to. The majority of the Architects and Parkway Drive records are not in the UK. The Placebo record was like this last year and I hoovered up a bunch from Portugal. Don't give up and dig deep into Google.

  4. It stinks in here and the shit needs to air out. Are you too sensitive? Maybe. Was there a keyboard warrior being an asshat? Probably. Maybe calling them out on it will do the trick...So let's do it, I'll start first! https://youtu.be/EuJzSTNDUGI Seriously though, we are all here for essentially the same reasons. People, stop being dicks.

  5. I actually like the 1 per person thing. Some people legitimately pick up a copy for a friend, but I'm willing to bet that more pick one or two extra up for eBay or Discogs down the road when preorders like this are not limited.

  8. This is the first TE double LP release. Most variants will be limited to 1-2 per customer (gotta assume /300 will be 1, /700 will be 2?) so don't plan on anyone being able to help out. Going up around 11am-12pm tomorrow.

  16. Even at a 50 percent cost reduction per piece of vinyl, the sheer start-up investment from pressing plants would put off most investors or interested parties. Especially given they could just invest in more pressing plants where they know the product will sell, and there is a shortage. Furthermore, when was the last time a 'new' technological breakthrough in physical media format ended up being cheaper than its predecessor? Heck, this sounds akin to the blu-ray of vinyl... 30% greater running time? Higher fidelity audio? Environmentally friendly? Those all sound like extra dollars in Columbia's eyes. 'HDFi' pressings of all your favourite blues, soul, jazz and rock artists. Don't forget to buy your special HDFi player for the BEST sound possibleTM!

  18. Energy wise and performance wise this brought the band a ton of attention. Musically it was not their best. The self destruct arena shows shortly after this with the warm place/eraser/hurt screen and more downward spiral tunes was the pinnacle of this band. Still my fav shows ever from that tour

  19. I have a first-gen VHS recording of this performance that I taped off the pay-per-view broadcast of the whole thing. And a bootleg CD of it as well. Overall it's not bad when it comes to the sound. I'd be more leery on this bootleg 2xLP though.

    Small Talk Revival Thread

I honestly don't feel it is any different than it has ever been. It's in it's same cycle of up and downs. Sure, there are some people that are too aggressive and seem to go out of their way to attack people, but that's always happened. I generally avoid topics where I know stuff like that will happen (any "VC band" type thread). I don't think it's a major problem, but sure, people could sometimes calm the fuck down and stop being assholes to each other.

    YCR Mystery Box sale!

you got 4 records valued at 36 dollars for 20 dollars and still find a way to argue. wow. the LP here obviously (at least for me) meant a 12 inch record. (also: The LP (long play), or 33 1⁄3 rpm microgroove vinyl record, is a format for phonograph (gramophone) records, an analog sound storage medium.)

  36. The "bubble" refers to inflated market caused by supply and demand. More plants = more competition, which means cheaper prices for labels/band and ultimately the customer.

  40. Reflecting upon The Hotelier and their lyrics there is no way this was done for shock value and to think so (I think) misses the whole point. Now I haven't heard the record yet but I am sensing there will be some kind of theme of connection. Mankind's connection to nature and each other. What I get from the picture is that "Goodness" or "Happiness" is only available to us when we toss away our worldly possessions and strip ourselves down to our natural form. True aggression and hatred usually come from the social construct of wanting what the other person has. By having this cover the band is commenting that when you strip away all of the typical bullshit of everyday life such as jobs, possessions, clothes, houses and just simply exist with nature, man is basically good inside. I completely agree with that sentiment and I think this is one of the most honest and beautiful record covers I've seen in ages. Also, its not the first fucking record to have naked people on it...fucking Jimmy Hendrix has a record with naked people...Linda Ronstadt has a record where you can basically see her boobs through the dress. I have a Pink Floyd record called A Nice Pair with a pair of boobs right on the front. Hell I think the first pair of boobs I saw may have been on a record cover. Children aren't going to be scarred by seeing naked old people or naked people in general...hell it will probably do them good...just explain that it is art and they might not be able to understand it until they are older... I'm really sick of all of the backlash for this album cover...give the world a dose of realism and they flip their shit...you don't see people bitching like this over the girls of the cover of The Dwarves records...
