Not sure what was in the Reddit thread, but I received this info regarding Figure 8 from Bong Load: "We take great care in our new pressings, just as we did with the originals. Odelay is longer than Figure 8 and it sounds (sounded) fantastic. Sticking with that philosophy, we are super happy with how the new figure 8 pressing sounds. Tom Rothrock (bong load owner) produced figure 8 and we also had the original mastering engineer do some passes on our hi res source before the metal was cut and we were all very happy with the result."

I have checked out albums in the past based off particularly appealing variants and-or album art, and proceeded to order after being impressed with what I had heard... but I've also dodged some bullets with that method, too. I don't think I've ever blind-bought something just off a variant photo or mockup, though.

And I got into the band "Fishboy" because he has some really cool comics that come with his stuff. I do check out the Pirates Press ROTW though because it totally just reminded me I need to listen to that sports. LP

not California related.. but I found an og copy of the Blink/Swindle 7" split on Discogs, went to spin it today and it had the songs from 'They Came To Conquer Uranus' on it. I guess the same thing happened to TCTCU as well. Anyone else have either or these? There was another cheap copy which I grabbed because I really want to hear that early version of 'Lemming' plus the Swindle tracks.

This. Also wanted to express my freakin love of Travis' parts on the record. The man hasn't lost it one bit. And as a drummer I think I base a lot of my opinion on the drum parts and how sweet they are. No Future intro / Cynical intro (including the mistake) = Travis jus being Travis, loved every moment. Seems like every time a favorite band of mine changes drummers or loses a long time drummer, I can always tell. And more often than not those albums always seem to flop to me. One exception? Freakin ETID. Daniel seems to be KILLIN it on the new tracks from Low Teens.

It's crazy how similar in structure Left Alone and Bored to Death are. Even that part you just mentioned about bare and then full blast is in Bored to Death. "Save your breath, I'm nearly bored to death" and then kicks in. Prechorus to both are amazing: LeftAlone: Are we halfway gone, or halfway there; BoredToDeath: I'm not coming home!

For anyone lucky enough to catch Planning For Burial on his latest US tour I have it on good authority he's likely to be bringing some new very limited cassettes along. He's putting them together with leftover tapes from his destroyed tape series (which was seriously awesome I have #3,#4 & #12) and the content is not confirmed. One will be #/22 the other #/13. Also seems strange rules still has T.Wasluck & Z. Zsigo 2nd edition cassette in their lost and found section (T.Wasluck = Thom Wasluck/Planning For Burial). I have a 1st Edition even Thom doesn't have.
