  1. Some poor soul is going to have to cancel hundreds of orders today. The Facebook post for the signed vinyl had 1,500 likes just 90 minutes after being posted last night. Or maybe they'll hire Kendrick Lamar's assistant to sign all of 'em.

  2. I saw them in a community center in Foxboro, MA in I think it must have been the winter of 2000, like february/march. It was mind-numbingly cold. I remember the heat in my friend's car barely worked and by the time we drove home after the show to our dorms in Lowell (1:15 away or so) I couldn't feel my feet anymore. It was freezing in the venue too; everyone wore their coats even when they got in the pit. There were four bands, the first of which was my friend's emocore band, then some other band, then Converge. The place had a stage but they set up on the floor and jesus fuck they pounded the hell out of that place. Everyone was very into getting in the pit or at least standing very close while they played because it helped you to stay warm, even though the place was way too big for the number of people there. Cave In was the last band/headliner and it may have been one of the very first times they played the stuff that was going to be on Jupiter which came out like 6 months later. There was a part where they were playing toy ray guns into their guitar pickups with delay pedals and stuff, in addition to just the general space-rock differentness of the Jupiter material. All the hardcore kids were PIIIIIIIISSED. They were like "what the fuck is this Pink Floyd bullshit??!?!?!!?" and I just laughed. I didn't know Converge or Cave In that much at the time (I had heard them both here and there) but for everything that happened it was one of the most memorable shows I've ever attended.

  3. I received a box from Amazon today. I opened it thinking it was the last of my xmas shopping, but there was curator stuff in there instead! I actually texted my mom and girlfriend asking if they ordered something through Prime and sent it in my name/address, but they didn't. I looked around for a packing slip, message, etc. and found this... This was sent by none other than...na na na na na na na na.. @batman!! Thanks so much Batman! I love The Menzingers and for some reason I didn't own this album. I'm actually going to see them this weekend in Scranton for their annual holiday show. @shadowkid33 are you going again this year?! I'm psyched to check out the Bukowski book. I have two of his books and this one is full of poems throughout his life. It's a big one too! Last, but not least.. awesome job on the Please Kill Me book! I have the older edition, but they just released this 20th anniversary edition which I really wanted, but didn't want to re-buy! Thanks again Batman and hope you have a great holiday this year!

  4. So yesterday I got a package.. All i can say is thank you.. I loved it.. I received several 7"s, and a CD. 2 band i never heard, but i enjoy local bands from other cities, so that's a plus. Will be listening to them shortly. I also received a ICARE for vaping. Which couldn't come at a better time. We ran out at work before i could buy one, so i'll be using mine shortly as soon as i can get a higher concentration of nicotine juices (today got some berry lemonade) I also received some chocolate brittle but that didn't last more than 10 minutes. how anyone can know i loved that stuff like crack is beyond me because i never listed it. It was literally opened and was eating it as i checked out the stuff inside the box. Stuff was so good. So from the bottom of my cold dead heart... THANK YOU!!!! Thanks Ianmonsta!!!! I really appreciate it!!!!

  5. I would gladly pay $50 for a record I love. The suckers are the ones who paid $100. quit trolling.

  12. So I got some real listens in and this record is absolutely incredible. I'm pretty much over the screamo period of my life other than a few staples but this record (despite only covering one side of a 12" record) is easily one of my favorites this year. I can't actually believe that I'm considering it one of the best with all these other 60+ minute LPs. The last two minutes of the last song... fuck me.

  13. That is definitely a 12", and I hope that it is the Blood Moon set. The clips I heard sounded killer!

  14. Can't speak on specifics since I don't have the persons info but I'm guessing that the 3 lps were ordered separately (black) and not the actual bundle. We're still waiting on the bundles to arrive in the warehouse so no one has gotten those yet. I think they'll be here late this week. Which means your records won't hit street date. Yipppeee, we get to field a bunch of emails asking "where's my shit you fucking assholes? " tis the season

  19. Robotic Empire is extremely excited to announce pre-orders for a long requested re-issue! Isis' - Wavering Radiant 2x12" is now available to order in the Robotic Empire Online Store: Order Wavering Radiant HERE! Choose from Blue & White Splatter Colored Vinyl, Black & White Splatter Colored Vinyl, or Standard Black Vinyl. We expect the records to arrive mid January and they will ship out ASAP after arrival. Remember, if you are ordering other items along with the Wavering Radiant pre-order, those items will be held and will not ship until Wavering Radiant arrives to us. The music of Isis is a suitable metaphor for their 12-year career; patient, meticulous, fraught with tension and gradually building towards an apex of seismic proportions. Isis have successfully navigated the process of growing and evolving without disavowing their initial vision. Wavering Radiant finds every component of the Isis armoury coming into equal play and becoming an audiophile’s dream. Grandiose without being over-indulgent, epic without compromising focus.Wavering Radiant is the fifth and final full-length album by American post-metal group Isis, last released by Ipecac Recordings in 2009 and produced by Joe Barresi and recently remastered for vinyl by Mika Jussila. It stands as Isis' last full-length album, as the band split just over a year after its release. The album continues Isis' history of lengthy songwriting, yet presents a slight departure from the soft-loud dynamics and post-metal aesthetic which characterized previous releases.Reviewers noted a continued increase in melody from previous releases, and many were quick to note an increased prominence of keyboardist Bryant Clifford Meyer's work, using a Hammond B3 organ. In keeping with Isis' retinue of concept albums, a thematic strand runs throughout, dealing with dreams and Jungian psychology. Robotic Empire is thrilled to once again to supply this gatefold, double-LP vinyl edition of ISIS’ classic album on black and limited colored vinyl! And then in case you all missed our last distro update in November, we are relisting those items below for you to look over, lots of great tunes here: New Items 1 Mile North - Awakened By Decay 180 GRAM BLACK VINYL 2x12" (Wortcunner) $24.99 American Football - Self-Titled 2006 - 180 GRAM ORANGE COLORED VINYL 12" (Polyvinyl) $24.99 Baton Rouge - Fragments D'Eux Memes 12" (Adagio830) $10.99 Crows An Wra - Kalopsia - CLEAR BLUE COLORED VINYL 12" (Adagio830) $10.99 Dark Blue - Red White and Dark Blue - BLUE COLORED VINYL 12" (Adagio830) $10.99 Daughters - Canada Songs Cassette (Robotic Empire) $7.99 Frameworks - Smother - WHITE COLORED VINYL 12" (Deathwish) $9.99 Grumbling Fur - Furfour 12" (Thrill Jockey) $18.99 Harm Wulf - Hijrah - BLUE COLORED VINYL 12" (Deathwish) $9.99 Hey Colossus - In Black & Gold Cassette (Cactus) $7.99 Hollow Sunshine - Coward, Leader, Omega Cassette (Iron Pier) $5.99 Left Cross - Servants Of Death Cassette (Anthems Of The Undesirable) $4.99 Levitations - Dust 12" (Adagio830) $10.99 Mere Phantoms - Famine For A Slow Death - CLEAR COLORED VINYL 12" (Anthems Of The Undesirable) $9.99 Meth Drinker - Self-Titled Cassette (Cactus) $7.99 Moutheater - Passing Key - PURPLE COLORED VINYL 12" (Anthems Of The Undesirable) $9.99 Neaux - Fell Off The Deep End Cassette (Iron Pier) $5.99 Oathbreaker - Rheia 2x12" (Deathwish) $19.99 Oozing Wound - Whatever Forever - YELLOW COLORED VINYL VINYL 2x12" (Thrill Jockey) $23.99 Planes Mistaken For Stars - Prey - MAGENTA COLORED VINYL 12" (Deathwish) $9.99 Romannis Motte - Time Sequences Cassette (Anthems Of The Undesirable) $4.99 Sect - Self-Titled Cassette (Cactus) $7.99 Self Defense Family - Colicky 12" (Iron Pier) $14.99 Senior Fellows - The Christened Remains of an Evolutionary Catastrophe 12" (Dead Tank) $10.99 Sport - Bon Voyage - PINK COLORED VINYL 12" (Adagio830) $10.99 Sport - Slow 12" (Adagio830) $10.99 Statiqbloom - Mask Visions Poison 12" (Vendetta) $10.99 Super Unison - Auto 12" (Deathwish) $9.99 Swallowing - Songs For The Saved Cassette (Anthems Of The Undesirable) $4.99 Totem Skin - Still Waters Run Deep 2x12" (Adagio830) $10.99 Totem Skin - Weltschmerz 12" (Adagio830) $10.99 Uninhabitable - Self-Titled 12" (All We Know) $9.99 Various Artists - Heteroticisms Volume 1: TUTH / Heinali Cassette (Land Animal) $4.99 Various Artists - Heteroticisms Volume 2: Scattered Purgatory / Eolomea Cassette (Land Animal) $4.99 Various Artists - Heteroticisms Volume 3: Anders Brorby / Oomny Mozg Cassette (Land Animal) $4.99 Virginia Creep - Self-Titled Cassette (Robotic Empire) $4.99 Wrekmeister Harmonies - Light Falls 12" (Thrill Jockey) $18.99 Restocks Cult Leader - Lightless Walk 12''- DARK RED COLORED VINYL (Deathwish) $9.99 Decades Failures - Goodby3 12'' (Dead Tank) $9.99 Doomriders - Grand Blood 12" - PURPLE COLORED VINYL (Deathwish) $9.99 Integrity - The Blacklest Curse 12'' - CLEAR WITH BLACK SMOKE COLORED VINYL (Deathwish) $10.99 Oathbreaker - Eros Anteros 12'' (Deathwish) $9.99 Planes Mistaken For Stars - Mercy 12''- PURPLE SILVER COLORED VINYL (Deathwish) $9.99 Trap Them - Seizures In Barren Praise 12'' (Deathwish) $9.99 Robotic Empire Online Store

  20. I'm taking a work trip to Austin in January and have one free afternoon/evening to pack in all my record shopping. I'm staying right on the Colorado river it looks like, so any recommendations for shops near there would be much appreciated! Thanks, friendly VC'ers.

  24. I wish! I'm playing a show on the same day down by where I live though so I can't make it. I'd rather go to the Holiday show honestly, but I booked my gig before they announced the date. I might sneak out of my show early and see Loone in Philly though - and I'm seeing Menzingers acoustic at Vintage Vinyl in February so it all works out in the end.

    PO Soon: TWIN PEAKS

Deathwaltz just replied to someone on Twitter inquiring about FWWM, they said that it's getting announced early January, and then going on sale late January/early February. It's good to finally have a little bit of news on this.

  26. Turntable Kitchen has been a great subscription for about 5 years now, this is the only subscription service in my mind that has been worth it month in and month out. Very excited for the new LPs there are doing. Now if I can just find that last 7" from the subscription that I need....

  29. I think mine come from work stress, and my anxiety issues. I haven't been on meds for a few months because I don't like my doctor, but have not had time to go see a new one yet. Nice, enjoy. That OM30 is supposed to be the sweat spot in that line. $219 is not bad, esp. since those smaller styli last a lot longer before needing replaced. Congrats!

  32. I'll echo the End of an Ear recommendations. The new shop is nice too! The exterior doesn't quite have the charm of the old one, but it's bigger. Waterloo is overpriced, I don't even bother going there when I'm in town now.

  35. For example, on Gmail you can say your email is [email protected]. Popmarket will see it is a new email address, but Gmail sees it as an email that should go to [email protected] but that should be put in a [email protected] folder.

  36. You're engaging the wrong person. WAXXX is pretty clear about the parameters of how and what he discusses. I'd describe it as a bit flippant and, at times, weirdly attacking of others' masculinity (the "crying" and "impress your girlfriend's kids" remarks are hyper-focused on challenging your manhood as a form of establishing authority in a conversation, which I think tells us that he views that as a sensitive spot or place of weakness to hit?). The "for the LOLs" stuff works for him and a few others as a way of killing time on the internet and instigating reactions for entertainment, but a back and forth conversation isn't going to stem from there. I think you'll need to keep the discussion going in person with non-anonymous individuals or through PMs with people who are at least willing to respect the dialogue as legitimate, even if they're disagreeing with you. There are opportunities for conversation online where your sincerity isn't immediately attacked as soft or weak or non-masculine.

  39. Sorry, it's be a while, but here's the pics! As I said, the box was pretty damn big: Inside were 3 wrapped gifts.. one was pretty heavy: The heavy one was a daft punk boxset i'd been wanting for a while! Second was a couple records. One was one of my favorite albums FUNKADELIC!!! I hadn't heard of the other band but have been giving them a listen and I like what I hear! The last box was a rad Lego set fully equipped with moose! All in all, I loved the gift! Based on the clues that the note had has, my SS this year was: Green Tea Papi Thanks dude!

  40. The art has grown on me. It looks like something that would have come out in 1992. I think the whole band name should have been done in soup letters. Go big or go home lol.
