possibly the least funny post made in the history of the internet... i got so excited for a second until i read the post and saw it was just a troll post, now you owe me a new chair.

  2. Tax return showed up today, so just paid off the last of my student loan. I'm not debt free, and it feels amazing. Now to get over this anxiety issue and get the fuck out of Ohio.

  7. So curiosity got the better of me, and the best part is that "With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear" – while absolutely heinous, you're right – isn't even the name of an artist, but rather an album title by the band "Sleeping With Sirens". Peeked on Discogs and found the variant being sold, which has gone for $75 at most. Nice try, OP. But that didn't sate my curios mind. I had to know why someone could justify paying $75 for an album with such an atrocious title. Surely the music must be incredible – lesson learned. Yes. This is actually what is being peddled in this thread. Yes. This will completely fuck up your Youtube recommendations. Shame on you, Urielectric. For literally everything in this thread.

  11. Nah man. Black vinyl won't wow the 80 people who will eventually watch their YouTube video where they hold up the 6 records they purchased in 2017 so far, slide the variants halfway out, and talk about their favorite track or where they ordered them.

    PO UP: Mae - (m)(a)(e)

I'm going to play devil's advocate for a sec...I think people are just disappointed their first pressing purchase, which was supposedly the only pressing of this, has turned out to not be the the only pressing and a newer, more limited, and perhaps more appealing pressing has appeared. That's understandable...to an extent. But think about this: I'm guessing most, if not all, of us here really like Mae and are excited they're putting out new music and seem to be active once again (<---focus on this last sentence, mostly). And if we're all being honest, we know being in Mae isn't financially lucrative and these guys more than likely make less money than many of us do here. With that in mind, I think them making available another 500 copies of the (m)(a)(e) album should be seen less a slap in the face/broken promise/misleading/whatever or however you feel...and more as a band making a decision most of us would make were we grown adults in a relatively small band like Mae--press some more copies and make a little more money (gasp) and make a few more folks happy who missed the first pressing. If that's going to help these guys continue making music and being an active band again, maybe we should all be willing to let go of the disappointment/deep betrayal we feel and see this for what it is: a band we love is making music again and that's a great reason to...let it go.

    MAN ADVICE v2.0

Huh, I guess I always assumed you were like 15 or something. I don't mean that in a mean way, just an observation. The opposite side of that is my experience. My wife and I got engaged when we were 21 and in our junior year at college. I thought it was cool that we got to grow together a bit before our personalities and interests became a bit more cemented, which studies show happens in your later 20s. So there's that. We were also broken up when I proposed. Our 3rd breakup over the course of about a year. It was the first serious relationship for either of us. And then we were only engaged for about 6 weeks before the wedding... Im realizing right now that I might not be the best person to give people relationship advice.

  16. April and AFP are amazing through and through for me. Among the Leaves and Benji were spotty, imo. Some great stuff some mediocre stuff that should have been cut. Universal Themes did nothing for me at all. Gonna give this a shot but my belief is faltering considering how off the wall a character this dude is.

  17. Yeah, I messaged them about it and they said some Wednesdays they don't have any items that qualify for the steal. I set up an Outlook reminder for when I get into work so I don't forget to check. (Don't fucking judge me)

  20. No real progress but Feb 2017 newsletter from Mylene Sheath says they're still cometh: "So we get at least one email everyday asking us if we're going to be pressing up the Jakob catalog on vinyl. We had announced that we would be doing it last year, but the schedules just didn't line up. But we have good news, the wheels are back in motion We'll be pressing the self-titled album, Subsets of Sets, Cale:Drew, and Solace - so be prepared, for they do indeed cometh. Stay tuned!"

  23. did the used ever have 1 giant hit? not really, all that i got came close but they never had 1 song that defined them and i think that is what helped to keep them so relavant and epic for 17 years.

This won't work for everyone but...get banned from VC for making threats to other members, come back immediately under a fake persona of a Russian scene kid whose dream is to backpack to the United States, give silly advice to someone asking for sincere advice, and you should feel great and fulfilled within seconds.

    The XTC Thread

XTC have been slowly putting out reissues but not in any real order and mostly focusing on Blu Ray 5.1 audio. But English Settlement was put out in a nice deluxe box. And the Skylarking box is the shit. 2XLP 45 RPM all that jazz. I would love the same treatment to Black Sea or White Music. Anybody hear anything about what might be next and what to expect? Also feel free to post anything XTC related in here because dudes come on I did a search and literally nothing came up.

  27. I recently switch cartridges on my table, so no longer have a need for this stylus. It only has about 100-120 hours on it, and is in great shape. The 8MZ stylus will fit any prestige body, and has a better profile then the gold stylus. Huge upgrade in sound for not a lot of money.

  28. Live VII goes up for PO on Monday (02/20), for anyone not in the know. No word on variants or bundles just yet, but it I imagine they're inevitable considering the t-shirt design the band is teasing.

  31. I totally take personal responsibility for the difference though. I found SKM when AFP came out. I thought it was so damn pretty and somber and I loved it so that's what I came to expect. Mark's free to make whatever music he wants to (and obviously he is) and that's chill. Just not for me, and it's my own fault.

  32. I've kinda dabbled around with Dub music recently, but my introduction to it was "Trevor Jackson Presents: Science Fiction Dancehall Classics." It was mentioned on a list of best rereleases on vinyl last year (or 2 years ago?) and I really liked it.

  33. LKJ in Dub is my pick (Linton Kwesi Johnson) - Other than Sublime, it's the only reggae/dub I own on vinyl. I don't love the genre, but I love this album.

  34. Considering the demand prior Solace presses have maintained, and analyzing the sale graphs on Discogs and Popsike for various copies and variants over the last 3-4 years, I have determined that I don't give a shit and neither should you. But really. Like with any repress that is sought after, it will drive the demand down a bit, but hardcore / variant enthusiasts will pay just as much or more to complete their collection in the future. I find it tough to really care though.

  38. Just came home to my copy of the Strokes release, of course there's corner bends and a giant seam split on the top, every fucking record I've order from them has had some corner bends and I'm kinda whatever on it, but jesus, a seam split? They need to better ship their fucken records, thankfully the vinyl is okay, which at the end of the day is what matters, but my OCD is gonna kill me with how fucked up this cover looks. I'm done with Newbury, fuck them and their overpriced bullshit releases.

    MAN ADVICE v2.0

Not only that, but Fungi gravitates towards the same Coachella-core and Pitchfork-approved hip-hop that Halo lapped up. He's also cheekily responded to accusations of being the same person. I'm not 100% sure who the account belongs to, but for simplicity's sake I think we can agree that they're just as insufferable as Halo / Young Thug was.

  45. I'm either over-worked, under-rested or a combination of the two: I originally read the tile of the thread as Gary Numan is going to "dü" a Hüsker box set and was a little confused. (Maybe I've just been listening to too much synth.)
