  1. Please get your facts straight, only 3% of the releases in this series will be abortions; the remaining 97% percent will be comprised of free screenings, regular check-ups, community health initiatives, and other essential services.

  3. Not to take a jab at everyone hyped on this release, but when I think of the poster child for a Gorillaz fan, Halo 2 is exactly who I picture. It's kind of perfect.

  5. Post-Post-VC isn't meant to be a replacement to VC as a whole, but it'll give this thread an expanded platform to really bloom and do its own thing, I think. I'd probably consider it supplemental – you'll definitely be able to follow appropriate post-genre / electronic / ambient / shoegaze / drone releases, there, but also check out VC for the latest Vinyl Me Please record, shipping woes, and threads for Youtube channels, study surveys, etc.

  13. Anyone who wants an invite to the new *Record Forum PM me with your email address. Just a heads up: it's only going to be a small handful of people for a bit until we get it all set up. We want it up and running before unveil it to all of you. We want it fully functioning so you can log in and go, instead of there really not being much to look at. I will keep log of all the invites. Thanks. * - It won't be just post rock stuff. We're thinking of making it a total VC replacement / alternative in time.

  17. This is why I don't find it all that funny. Nearly every one of these I've watched has been an abortion. How do you tell satire from actual shit if there's no difference?

  18. You. I found you boring. Just don't make any more episodes. You'll be doing everyone a huge favor.

  19. Why do you think Gorillaz fans are more likely to use Discogs? I dont think it's unreasonable to think only 5-10% of vinyl buyers track their collections using discogs. 24,000 people not using discogs to track their collections is a pretty reasonable estimate.

  20. Not many details yet, but a nice diverse set of artists listed on the announcement for this release series, and for a good cause. I'll try to keep the thread updated, pre-order details coming soon.

  21. I love this record so much and I don't care if no-one else does. The vinyl release only has 10 songs from the 17 song 1992 live set, but all are available as a download. They didn't play Porchlight (my favourite BT song of all), which is a shame. They are doing some 25th anniversary shows with two sets - one of LMCO in full and the other of the rest of their stuff. The promo fluff is only on the UK page. The US one just has the order details. http://archive.beggars.com/buffalo-tom-let-me-come-over-25th-anniversary-edition/ http://arkivestore.beggars.com/let-me-come-over-25th-anniversary-edition

  22. Angels & Airwaves - We Don't Need to Whisper (Transparent and Opaque Purple Haze) - Amazon had it through Warehouse Deals, so this could be interesting... Four Year Strong - Enemy of the World (Clear Orange) - Someone had this listed on Discogs for $13 Say Anything - Hebrews (Opaque Maroon) The Wonder Years - Won't Be Pathetic Forever (Orange/White Marble) Also just got: Brand New: 3 Demos...

    Vinyl Reviews Channel

    1) Decide what you're trying to accomplish. Your title said review, but it was an unboxing. 2) Determine who your audience is. Then figure out what your audience wants to hear. Are you trying to convince young people to buy vinyl? 3) Either work extemporaneously or not. I do unboxing videos and I have things I put into the videos in order to keep a recurring theme: I get a beer out of my fridge, I show a few records I've picked up, etc. I also show the vinyl itself, and not just the record in a sleeve. I have no idea if people are enjoying my unboxing videos, I put them there because it was requested of me. So, I do it and have fun with it. I did get a good comment on YouTube once...so there's that. 4) LOOK LIKE YOU'RE HAVING FUN. It looks like you're doing an oral report and didn't prepare. 5) If you're going to be doing videos of long established albums like Dark Side of the Moon, you shouldn't have any editing, any ums or urs...rehearse it before hand. SPEAK LOUDLY and clearly. 6) Have a point. It didn't seem like there was much of a point to the video. 7) Do many of them before you start trying to get people to watch them. It takes time to develop a style and you don't have one. Your video is not going to garner repeated viewership. Just because you make a video, it doesn't mean you have to publish it. Do practice videos of every record you have. Figure out what you're trying to get across and learn to get that across.

    Ghost in the Shell

He was great. His character was well-done once you understand what he's all about and his origin. He was a combination of the Puppetmaster from the OG Anime and The Laughing Man from the SAC series.

  30. Never been to Europe before. Cheap flights and cheap air bnb. From what I've researched it is tourist focused on the coast (split & Dubrovnik) and decent English. It's also beautiful with a lot of old architecture and a moderate climate. It's directly across the Adriatic from Italy to put it in context.

    Pre-Amp ?

The Lounge is excellent and should be a big improvement on the built in stage. You are making a nice step up with the Orbit so maybe wait a bit and get used to the sound of the new table, but save money for the Lounge in the meantime. It's well worth the money.

  34. I don't think the movie is anywhere near as important or popular as the soundtrack. The only reason i even bothered to watch the movie was because of the music and the fact that i knew that soundgarden/AIC/ PJ made appearances in it. I agree with pretty much most people here who have posted talking about what a significant soundtrack this was at the time and really for a few years following it as well. I was 15 years old living in a 5k person town when it came out and was probably still listening to it regularly when i went to college because it was so good.

  40. They pictures are still a little blurry for some reason but whatever... I am thrilled with my new media console. It was built by a guy named Adam (www.karmadeefa.com). If you live in TN and need a record shelf or any custom furniture you should 100% hit him up. I also posted a few other angles of my living (record) room as well as my main storage unit This is my main record shelf which was given to me by my grandmother.

  42. I'd highly recommend www.tapeheads.net, the folks over there are tapedeck enthusiasts and will give some good recommendations. A lot of people over there are fans of Nakamichi decks -- Japanese company that made high end decks that can usually be found at very affordable prices now due to lack of interest from the masses. I have one of their entry level decks and it sounds great, would highly recommend looking into them. Maybe check your local craigslist or ebay.

  43. Got mine today! As mentioned, the sound is fantastic. Mine had a skip on the last track of side B but after a quick scrub on my Okki Nokki it was perfect. The variant color really looks best held up to the light

Grabbed a copy of The Killers - Hot Fuss from work with my employee discount, ended up paying $15 for it. It's so nice to finally have one of my fav albums on wax without having paid triple digits for an official pressing or settling for a bootleg.
