  2. So I'm back to this topic, two years later--and this time there was a BOGO sale! 2-pack coming November 2017...

  4. LOL you can power a city block off of brent's sass, and I love it. Team Broken Circles for life.

  5. I think they way they described it: There is a 2 hour premiere on Sunday, the following Sunday is also 2 hours (broken down parts 1/2 and then 3/4). Immediately after (this Sunday), you should be able to stream the premiere episodes (1/2) and the following weeks episodes (3/4). The total number of episodes is not technically 18, but instead they are calling it 18 hours. The first two weeks are 4 hours total, and then it will be 1 hour episodes up until the finale, which will also run 2 hours on September 3rd. Does that make sense, did I explain it okay?

  6. I feel like I'm in the severe minority here but, for me, Plastic Beach is their best album.

  10. Hey friends. It's been a bit. I finally saw Mono last night and thought you all would appreciate. It was an amazing show in a tiny venue with a light quiet crowd. It was perfect.

  11. I have never made a single public facing post announcing this ACB release and claiming a release date at all, simply to avoid little entitled fuckheads like you crying because they can't order a record that doesn't exist yet. I would love for you to show everyone a Broken Circles social media post that has an exact release date and isn't a reply to someone. I know that task is impossible for you. The band posted that it was happening on Facebook before they had any information other than it was happening. That post has caused more problems than it has helped. If they hadn't made it, you wouldn't know it was coming out, and you wouldn't have anything to bitch about. I can't wait to show you what being an ass really entails after I refund your order when it finally gets put up for sale. I used to like posting on this message board. There was an actual community of people that valued the music first and foremost. People actually supported the labels and the bands instead of treating them like some evil entity that's out to fuck them over and take their money. I think if some of you knew and understood the amount of effort it takes to press vinyl and run a label, you'd stop running your pathetic little mouths every time something didn't line up exactly to whatever overinflated expectation you happened to have at that moment. And if your response is some "customer is always right" bullshit, you might as well not even hit reply. Shout to the chill OGs like Daegor and billya who are still holding it down on here.

  14. Descender ruuuuules. I like Lemire's stuff but I've still never gotten around to Sweet Tooth (I know, shame, shame).

  15. For sure. I glanced around on there for the first time in a while the other day and the only acceptably priced record I saw was the most recent TBS album. I don't think they realized it's a double LP since it's priced the same as most of the other $22+ single LP releases.

  16. That's what I figured since that's what most of the discussion has been. Unfortunately I'm already buying a copy but hopefully someone else can help you out.

  17. Say no more! That and Underwater Welder are my fave of his OGN work (well, nothing touches Essex County but I actually grew up there for a spell so it's a different story for me). Gonna buy the HC when it comes out later in the summer. Can't wait! I own an original page from Sweet Tooth. Lemire's my dude! I'm reading Descender regularly from him. If you haven't checked it out, he did a project with the lead singer of a favourite band here in Canada, The Tragically Hip. It's a great work called Secret Path and it's on YouTube too since it's a government-funded multimedia piece.

  19. Last night I watched Follow (2015) on Shudder and loved it. I struggled to make it through The Battery (2012) afterwards though, maybe because it was such a different change of atmosphere. I might finish it later.

  20. it is possible the mp3s won't be available til the technical release date. I have had that issue with download codes before. mine doesn't show til this Friday or Saturday and I am dying to listen/read the book.

  21. Mine just got in today! So beautiful! Has anyone had any trouble with their MP3 download code though? Mine doesn't seem to work :/

  22. Can we all just collectively agree to stop doing the VMP referral link circlejerk every time VMP releases any new music? I really don't need twenty people offering codes in the hope of scraping some free money off the forum. We need a megathread somewhere just for referral info/links.

  24. Pre-orders started at 12pm Eastern Time. Ultra Clear version limited to 200, sold out less than 2 hours. I was refreshing this site multiple times/day since early May, when they dropped the first single. Glad I copped an ultra clear. Too bad the FREE tshirt available for sale is plain and not appealing. Wish it had a live band shot, which I would have gotten one of those as well. As for the demo, keep an eye on Discogs...those were available for quite a long time on various sites like Triple B or Moshers Delight...but appear to be all gone now. Or maybe just email the band and ask them.

  26. I ordered 6 RSD items from them and they had them all in stock. It took around 2 weeks for them to ship my order though. Shipping is very affordable but I have had some issues with them in the past because they use a very flimsy mailer. The box is so weak that the corners get damaged very easily and the box is very easy to rip apart (even by hand). They once shipped 10 LPs to me using this mailer and it got DESTROYED in the mail. The corners were all dented, some creased beyond belief and there were so many seamsplits. I let them know and they said they would send replacement sleeves. I requested that they use a stronger mailer, but that fell on deaf ears. When the package arrived, they only sent the outer sleeves and in the same weak package, so of course those empty replacement outer sleeves got damaged in the mail too. Their solution to this was shocking: "Since this has been a problem earlier when shipping to your address, we can no longer send orders to your address due to the amount of damaged items." Basically, they blamed the postal service, when the real problem was their flimsy mailer and packaging. I took a chance and ordered again from them because their RSD selection was so vast. This time they used the same cheap mailer but reinforced the package with 2 shipping bands on the outside which seemed to be better, but maybe I just got lucky. One item still arrived damaged, so just be aware that their packaging is really bad and customer service even worse!

  31. Oh, haha. I have no idea how I didn't know that. Google just kept giving me a Teen Titans thing he did, so I assumed it was that. I'd say Royal City reminds me a bit of The Nobody a bit.

  32. Magnetic Eye Records' "limited to" numbers have been bullshit for a while. When I saw they were doing the obi thing and the prices went up, I knew it was going to be the same boutique label crapbucket scenario with high prices and high hype. This is making me lose interest in this type of metal and I've been listening to more death, black, and thrash. Not that those sub-genres are immune to this type of shit. Labels don't realize that they are shooting themselves in the foot. I've said it many times before, but these labels need to learn from the 90's comic book fiasco. Lots of subpar music being released in limited fancy packaging.

  34. The release date was supposed to be 4/28/17 but it has not shipped yet FYI. Smoking Room has this on their website: If you pre-ordered a Weed LP they are slightly delayed at the plant, hoping to arrive mid-May

  35. Not sure if this song will be on the album since she just wrote and recorded it but I am more and more hopeful this new album will go back towards her hip hop influenced sound.

  36. Yeah, I was confused as well. I think if your IP address is located in North America, it automatically redirects you to TRL. I went to this link and if you change it to UK or an EU country at the bottom, you'll see the signed print PO: https://www.musicglue.com/mogwai-1/shop I tried checking out using my Canadian address and it automatically removed it from the cart, so I guess us North Americans are stuck with the TRL version. Kind of sucks since I would rather have the signed print than the 7" even if I'm willing to pay the extra shipping cost. If anyone in North America can figure out a way to get the UK/EU version, I'd like to know!

  41. Conan...was...fucking AWESOME. Catch them on tour if you can, wizards. The Sleer opened up, and were terrific, North was amazing, Conan played third and fucking destroyed, and Witch Mountain closed it out. WM isn't necessarily my thing, but they did a good job at what they do. The gal doing vocals puts on a really fun show. I love it when bands are really into what they're doing Was able to get a copy of Blood Eagle and Jon signed it for me. Spent a little too much on beers to get myself a shirt, may order one through the mail at some point though.
