  4. We only put a third of the pressing up last night for existing customers and those who have been on the waiting list for this. The rest will go online for the general PO tomorrow morning. As for Frou Frou we've looked at doing it but it's the license cost is insane so can't make it (Or Imegaphone) work

  10. Glad people are enjoying the album, from 1/4 of the creator of it, it means a lot. Stores are on the lists if they ordered. If they didn't order before stock was low/gone, that's on them. Thanks. -J.

  11. Counterpoint: Making the same exact music for 30 years would probably be boring from an artist's standpoint.

  13. I've been a member of the VC community for a long time and wanted to share this with you guys Because of my profession and marriage I'm unable to do music the traditional way so that is the reason for the Kickstarter. My friends and I made the music video ourselves and everything is already recorded. I just thought it would be cool to have something I made pressed...so hopefully it works out. If for some reason more money is pledged than I need the rest will be donated to Unicef Puerto Rico aid. 3 Packages $10 - Graveyard Gertie CD/ If You Really Want To Hear About It CD $25 - Graveyard Gertie CD and Vinyl/If You Really Want To Hear About It CD $50 - Everything in $25 package plus, handwritten lyrics/details notebook, Polaroid from photoshoot, everything hand numbered /12... and you can choose any song for me to cover for a free cover record next fall. See More Glass - Graveyard Gertie Kickstarter (Pressing of 300) Listen To The Whole E.P. on Bandcamp (Purchase for $1) Artwork by Tony Contini Thanks for checking it out...

  16. Oh wow. Listening to this now...words can't fully express all that I am feeling at the moment and with each song. (Thanks majorly to fellow VCer who hooked me up w/ the download) Each Converge record is evidently an expansion and progression on what's been done before. There was an interview (I believe) where the band said that they made music for themselves that they wanted to hear and hence not sounding like anything else that was out there. Sure, the outside musical influences and permeate through...but that's normal expectation and behavior in music. But c'mon, Converge have been able to carve such a special and unique of their own that they've gone way beyond their HxC & Metal roots in their 27 years of existence. Listening to The Dusk In Us is yet another crux and amalgamation of everything they've done before and still pushing themselves in the sound that's their own and only for themselves. Lucky us that they've chosen to share this gift of art and sound with us. Really, this record is still the heaviness in sound and heart that we know of the band and still pushing thing forward with an emotion that we can all relate to. It's a calculated and freeing exercise in what heartfelt heaviness sounds like. (And just writing all of that shows that I dearly miss writing for music blogs...it's been so long.)

  22. In a tiny town in Kimmswick, MO...the whole town is basically an antique mall, there's a little store that just sells records. I walked in there thinking, this is gonna be thrift shop trash, but I gotta look...I ended up with Johnny Cash, Cream, Elton John, Don McClane, and The Mamas and the Papas...only spent $30...all were in immaculate shape too. I guess it was a record store, but it was still strange to me damn it.

  29. On my first listen, 'Trigger' is so sick goddamn, so far it seems like a nice progression from the last one, this band does no wrong.

  30. What do you think is happening at DWHQ? I'd be surprised if they employed a person whose sole job it is to determine whose preorder has the most Converge or DW-releases to their discogs. Yet if they don't, how can you be disappointed in them? Do you except them to remember you? Few copies are randomly inserted into preorders, so yeah, be disappointed that the odds didn't go your way, fair enough, but you seem to act as if they've done you a disservice in some way. Owning a near complete Converge collection doesn't make you friends. Or family.

  32. I'm not such a fanboy that I don't comprehend differing opinions. I don't love Axe to Fall. Most any Converge fan more than like 3 years younger than me would think that's insane. But given their last few records, this new one isn't out of left field. Different, but a logical progression. Like, I don't listen to a new Between the Buried and Me album and go "What's this prog-ass bullshit?" I think it, but I'm not surprised and it doesn't make sense to complain. They only have one LP worth of good material?

  33. Hanson is actually quite good. And rather successful within their fanbase. I, for one, am insanely excited for this release. Pre-ordered it a few weeks ago!

  34. By the time I finally get my preorder I'm not even gonna want to listen to it. I'm glad someone punched Dave in the face.

  35. Those lyrics are so fucked up it's disgusting. Bello can't write anything that isn't a personal attack it seems. Every song is complaining about something or other there are no introspective lyrics to be found. When Nicole was writing MOST of the lyrics before this record there was always something worthwhile to draw from them. This band being a revolving door of members relied on her as the centerpiece.

  45. I started collecting to fill a constant, nagging emptiness in my life. Vinyl doesn't seem to be doing the trick. Think I'm gonna try faberge eggs next. Or drugs. Probably drugs.
