Seriously, has any band gotten as much Record Store Day mileage out of as little recorded material as Big Star? Even the Sex Pistols haven’t had as many demos, live recordings, box sets, etc culled from such little back catalog. At least the Flaming Lips and Kinks - who seem to release a half dozen records each RSD - have decades worth of recordings laying around.

Got my tour splat variant w/the screenprint. 85/100. Screenprint is beautiful and thankfully folded correctly. Variant is beautiful too. I absolutely love what they did with the packaging for this album and the spotgloss in the gatefold is amazing. Honestly this album took me by surprise. I liked Descensus, but this is on another level.

I e-mailed procrastinate and asked what color the limited records are. They responded with this: We Actually believe it or not, dont know the color of this vinyl. We haven't even received the limited orders to know what they look like, or what they contain! All we know is that they weigh more, so there is definitely more to it than just the vinyl.

Do you want to start a vinyl collection? Or maybe you have one and you want it to last the more time possible. Great! Learn this method for cleaning vinyl records. Remember that the process of reproducing vinyl it is so delicate that even a tiny particle resting on the surface of the record can damage its reproduction. That is why you have to take good care of your records. For having the best listening experience possible. And not only that! While CDs are read by the player with a laser, when it comes to vinyl, the stylus needs to physically touch the surface of the record. With that said you are also taking good care of your turntable by keeping your collection as clean as possible. I will share with you a method that I have for cleaning vinyl. I have come out with it thanks to a huge research online of different methods. After some days of consolidating all the different strategies out there, I’ve concluded that this is maybe one of the best, easy, and cheap ways to do it. To be fair, I managed a couple tapes at the right time like YYU and Hit Vibes, and it's gonna take a LOT to pry em away from me, so I get it. But usually there's at least one flipper trying to sell one for 200 bucks with no description, but this ones an exception. I got in a tight financial spot recently and sold off a couple, Silent Hill and Luxury Elite - World Class. I'm actually kinda regretting selling Luxury Elite but I honestly didn't expect someone to purchase my listing. People even want that Drake and Josh tape that /mu/ made, I had no idea.

The microfiber I use is more of a small towel than a cloth. It's not like the things you use to clean eyeglasses or electronics. The vinyl always comes totally dry after a minute or so of drying it off with that. It may also help to have a small fan/hairdryer to go over the album as it becomes dry alternating with the cloth. Certainly playing a wet record would probably cause issues later!

I just made a new bottle of DIY record cleaning solution last night. Here's my method which I find to work great, and it's what a local (and renowned) record store uses... all of this in a spray bottle. A few drops of Seventh Generation regular dish soap (no scent, that's the brand I use but I've heard regular old Dawn could work). It has 0% dye, no scent, etc. 91% Isopropyl alcohol (just under 25% of the bottle filled) Distilled water filled to the neck of the bottle. Spray onto a soft dish sponge and/or the record, gently wipe around record with the grooves. Pat and wipe dry with a soft microfiber towel. For the needle, I've always used a regular white Magic Eraser and just dropped the needle into it 3 or 4 times.

Did anyone else order the Standard Vinyl from them? I just received mines in the mail and it had a little card in it saying #009 on it. I didnt know if it was said that it would be numbered or not.

I know what you can do with a record lol. It is a fact that the further the grooves are from each other the better a recording can sound. If you think 15-20 min on a side will sound the same as 2-5 minutes you are wrong. It's a dumb format for an album but 12" singles are infinitely better than 7". Plus the art is bigger.

So I was at the show last night as well, and from what I remember Dustin said that tonight (last night) was the first time they could talk about it onstage. He said that they tried to have it in time for this tour, but they couldn’t make it in time. The repress will be available online, it will have new colors of vinyl, and will remain on the 4 x 10 format as andrewlucas stated above. I don’t recall whether him saying anything about whether they will do the leather bound book again or not.

Some US distros will be carrying the clear copies. I know Headfirst Records has already ordered a stack of black and clear. Also, in the teaser video for this Chris talks about a new Cursed record in 2018.

To be fair to Julien, I don't know how you can replicate Sprained Ankle. I don't mean musically, I mean that she was a new voice with a first album that just took everybody by surprise. You can't come literally out of nowhere more than once. Personally, I'm trying not to measure Turn Out the Lights against Sprained Ankle for exactly that reason. That album resonated with me in such a deep, emotional way that it's unfair to compare anything to it. That said, I think it's really good.

Hi, everyone! I've gone back to my old turntable which is an 80s Technics. The REASON is because the speedbox on my Debut Carbon went out and I can't afford to buy a new one (the damn things are $150). That being said, I am selling my blue Project Debut Carbon for $200. SHIPPED! You need either a new speedbox or a new power cord for the turntable if you want to manually move the belt to change speeds. I have the old speedbox if you can figure out how to fix it....It plays 33's at the 45 speed, but spins slower on the 33 setting for some reason. Anyhow, if you can fix it then it's your gain for the price! It might need a new needle sooner than later. I've my current cart for about two years, but have rarely spun LPs for the past two years anyway. Let me know if you're interested! Thanks. Ya I was going to post the slip cover the other day but forgot. I'm not that upset about it being listed as a "separate cover" and just being a slip, I get it. What irked me is that the slip only has the Side B songs listed on it and not Side A. With that logic, you'd at least expect the slip to go high enough on the back of the actual cover to hide the original cover "Side B" song listing, but no, it sits below, so with the slip on, you get Side A listing, Side B listing, then Side B song listing again (slip cover). It just looks poorly designed.
