a “pressing” is an entire batch for a specific variant, I think the word you guys are looking for is “copies”

Xander Harris was hit by a car while riding his bike a few weeks ago and, while he will thankfully be okay in the long run, he has been off work since with some mounting medical/PT bills. This is incredibly true. I don't know why people keep having outstanding expectations for a band that makes Scooby-Doo metal. It's supposed to be campy and corny and exaggerated, that's the point.

Man, this Pop pressing sounds loads better than the original. Low end is perfectly deep. Vinyl is flat and quiet, clean and heavy (sticker says pressed in Germany - maybe Pallas?). Gonna have to order ATYCLB now because my original was purchased used and there is some wear on it.

I think you're probably correct about that... an expensive day just got a little more expensive! The KingsRoad exclusive one looks the prettiest so far I'd say!

I think it's probably different -- the Nuclear Blast one notes it being "exclusive", and the Bullmoose seems to be black vinyl for the LP, and the clear/smoke for just the 7". Definitely a variant collecting nightmare, though.

I've never even heard a note of Demarco's until a couple of days ago. This album is the business. Can't fathom how it happened.

The aesthetically pleasing aspects of vinyl sound come from distortion at the needle and the amp. I wouldn't think this new stamper manufacturing process would affect either of those things. As to why: theoretically, it's faster, way less of a pain in the ass, and less expensive in the long run. Plus, 99.9% of contemporary music is digitally recorded. Hell, even Jack White uses Pro Tools now. I suppose you could take it a step further and say "why even make vinyl then?" to which I would say, great point! I'm certainly not going to let logic get in my way, though. I'm going to keep hauling my wall of records around until I'm dead like a giant dumbass.

A lot of the currently price inflation also falls in other areas....such as damages during shipping now have to be taken into account as every "new to the hobby" kid with a crosley is returning vinyl for corner dings, which means that stores are being pickier and pickier on what they're bringing in, which means distributors are more picky as well. Shipping prices continue to rise while this is happening as well as distros using more packing material to ensure product arrives without corner dings. Additionally the majors got back into the vinyl market and the licensing fees are high on any of their artists which causes the over all price to be higher....because of this, they're kind of setting a precedent on prices and other distros an labels are able to raise their prices knowing that the consumer will pay it because they're buying $35 single LPs sourced digitally of (insert major label pop artist here).....there are so many contributing factors to the arbitrary inflation of prices inside this "bubble"
