  2. New year means new tunes. What are you guys looking forward to for 2019? New End of the Ocean in < 2 weeks. Caspian confirmed to start recording a new record in the next few months. Also wondering if they’re going to stick to their plans to do a 10-year anniversary / re-recording of Tertia. Potentially a very busy year for them. Russian Circles confirmed they’ll be back in the studio to record in the coming months. LP7 and they haven’t missed a beat in my books. New Pelican is something I’m cautiously optimistic about. I enjoyed the new tracks they’ve been playing live. The upcoming Mono release leaked and it’s a lot better than I thought it’d be. Great start to the year for those guys. I didn’t hate their last couple of releases or anything, but that new album is way more solid. Maserati should be done recording their latest album. I have to admit that even with the weird vocoder stuff they’ve been doing on their last few albums, I come back to them quite a bit and enjoy what I hear. Instant order from TRL when they decide to drop it. And I’m also pretty interested in the new Lost in the Riots album, to scratch that riffy ASIWYFA itch. Hopefully I didn’t forget anything. Solid year for post-rock and post-metal, potentially.

The album is set for release on March 8th, 2019, through The Artisan Era. It is the follow up to the group’s 2016 heavily praised EP, “Birthing Homunculi”, whose material makes it’s way onto “Demiurgus” in a re-worked fashion far beyond their initial form. 5. Here's what I went through over the last couple weeks. Scream 4 - This was surprisingly good. Doesn't quite top the original, but I think it's the next best entry into the series. A nice redemption from the rubbish that was Scream 3. Dead Girl - This is the first movie I've been repulsed by in a very long time. I kept watching in hopes that it'd redeem itself at the end, but it just doubled down on the misogynistic rape fantasy that it portrays the whole film. Lifechanger - Real cool concept, very mediocre execution. The main character gets itself into some real amusing situations and I think it would've worked better if it dove into that and presented itself as a horror comedy. Rust Creek - I was expecting this to be more of a survival horror movie. What I got was an ok, if not predictable drama. Murder Party - Nothing amazing, but it was fun. I usually like seeing the early work of film makers I enjoy, especially when they're working on real low budgets. Happy House - This was neither the horror nor the comedy it was billed as. Don't bother. I Know What You Did Last Summer - Hadn't seen this since it came out. It didn't age nearly as well as Scream did and definitely was far worse than I remember it being. Even though some of the logic here is bad even by horror standards, it was still fun to revisit. I Still Know What You Did Last Summer - Significantly worse than the first, but it does cross into so bad it's good territory. I had a pretty fun time with this one. Swamp Thing - This was awesome in a late night monster movie sort of way. Not Craven's best work and definitely not a great representation of Swampy as a character though. Suspiria (4k remaster) - I haven't seen this in about 15 years and figured I should refresh myself before the new one gets a home release. The use of sound here is so good and I think it really makes the movie. Additionally, it seems like a lot of care was taken in the remaster and it looks gorgeous. Good Manners - More of a dark fantasy than a horror film. My friend and I both liked this quite a bit. It tells a werewolf story in a way I'd never seen before. The runtime is a little long, but it seems to go fast due to how the movie is structured. I'd recommend it pretty highly.

  7. From those, I really can't wait for Caspian, Russian Circles. I've already listened to the new The End of the Ocean and it's phenomenal. This year, I'm also looking forward to the new Wander, We Lost the Sea, Cult of Luna, Old Solar, Catacombe and maybe Fourteen Nights at Sea and Cloudkicker.

  9. Got mine today. INCREDIBLY upset. 10 weeks of delays, and absolutely nothing like what the description implied. I sent them a furious email already. What is everyone else doing about this? $100?!?!?!? Yeah f-in right. Not #ed, no artwork, no note, no nothing. Awfully packaged. PISSED.

  10. This is super upsetting. As for how we shouldn't take this for what it is, I can almost guarantee a credit card dispute for not getting what you paid for would refund you. Not saying that's the way to go but from a more serious financial perspective it's totally not okay. I was considering the box set and I'm glad I didn't. I would have been really disappointed.
