I just got a GITD splatter record last week. I'll have to get back to you on that after I double check but to me it sounded a little more noisy than the others in the set (only 1 record out of 3 had the GITD splatter) but not by much. Was still very listenable and looks awesome too

I haven’t been able to stop listening to Stereolab since this last Lab Report and it’s honestly become a daily thing and their whole discography is so solid but still varied and I have no idea what the fuck is happening but damn.

We'll see. It's really hard for me to judge their albums at face value any more since ROTH took a long time to grow on me. I've listened to the leak a few times now and enjoy it like a 7/10. But I'm waiting for the physical vinyl so I can sit down, read along, etc and wager that will increase. It was the same for The Hotelier "Goodness". That album was good, but the first time I sat down, read the lyrics, completely different.

ProJect Perspective TT w/ ADC XLM MK II Improved Gold cartridge AMC 3050a (made by ex-NAD engineers and very similar to NAD) preamp into an Onkyo TX-8270 receiver which has several nice modern features like lossless streaming from any music service or networked drive. Q Acoustics 3050i speakers which I am obsessed with.

I understand the "business model". It sucks yeah. I'm talking about an EAR pressing. Matt's meticulous attention to details is what makes DiH such an awesome reissue. If Matt is able to master YPAA in such a meticulous manner, we'd have a very special record.

These are not done without consent. When artists sign to a label that hold rights — they can be licensed out to third party companies. Just because the artist is not putting out the Record or “consents” to it — this is how business is done. It’s a potential pitfall for an artist that has been around since musicians have been signing contracts.

I read the JFN Facebook post today and was pretty much embarrassed for them, glad Lou responded to it too. There really was zero reason for it and the whole we want to be transparent thing is pretty dumb. Bands hop from labels all the time and labels drop bands all the time no big deal. Lou has put out a lot of stuff on that label in the years he’s been there, they should’ve just wished him well.

Stoked we're getting Bryan vs. Kofi at Fastlane in a few weeks — I'm going with a buddy of mine and I think we have good seats.
