Ordered from Amazon, got the clear w/ yellow and black splatter. Also, the EP is fantastic. I didn’t really get into their past couple of releases, but this just instantly clicked and is already a favorite.

Wondered how he could sell at the prices he was selling and still make money.

I finally got hold of them. The guy in charge had been off sick and apologised for their lack of contact but did not blame his being off sick for it. They refunded me my money and a few days later sent me the record anyway. Happy ending for me and seemingly a blip for them.

I don’t usually go for picture discs but this is gonna be hard to pass up

This might be the only time I double-dip on an album (outside of Polygondwanaland).

This isn’t by any means the most dynamic sounding record I’ve heard, but it does sound good. It’s a huge improvement over my original pressing, which is unlistenable with its constant surface noise.

One. More. Week. Ugh. For me, solid streaks look like trash. They’re always weirdly faded and choppy looking and just generally appear as “cheap” in my eyes. (And this feels especially true if the base color of the LP is opaque.) Just speaking from personal experience and preference, anyway.

Early bird should arrive in 2 days for me but I caved and listened to the lossless download last night. Good stuff. I appreciate this band doing something a little different/evolving with each album. Lots of female vocals throughout are a nice addition and hold a great spot in the full-bodied mix. The memorable repetitive guitar licks we all loved from LP1 have now fully given way to multi tracked guitars weaving around to create a more dreamy, ethereal sound, and while lp1 will always be the sound I connect with most, I wouldn't want them to try to recreate it, and again I appreciate something new and more mature with each release. Lamos' jazzy drumming remains familiar, and he had a couple of horn segments although I was left wanting more of that. Gonna give it a few more listens this weekend and I expect it to continue to grow on me as LP2 did.

Just came across a UK store that sells a colored version of the album for £24.99. Color is unspecified, but I placed an order regardless, since I missed out on the ones that were offered on the Baroness site. I absolutely do not understand how this is possible. $50 for 7 lps. There are 2lp single album releases for that. Fucking crazy. Garth is fucking awesome.

A $35 record from Urban is not worth the 100 or so instagram likes you’re hoping on getting with it.

It sounds to me (and this is probably why people are reacting so strongly) like you're looking to get into the speculative vinyl market, and I've gotta say beyond the ick factor of straight-up asking which records will be out of print soonest, it's just not a great idea in general. Collecting "limited" records for their "value" is a big gamble, and unless you're already knowledgeable and immersed in the hobby, the odds are good that you'll end up stuck with a bunch of records you don't want that you'll eventually dump for a loss. If you want to make easy money flipping stuff, there are probably safer bets out there. Now, if you're asking because you just want to own something, anything, as long as it's limited: I would honestly just take a step back and ask whether possessing rare items will actually make you happy, or if you're just passively following messages you (and all of us! since birth!) are receiving from our western capitalist society that are telling you that consumption is the highest form of cultural participation. Maybe just think about what music connects with you, and seek out a copy of that music on a format that you think is cool. Some of my favorite and most treasured records are monetarily worthless, yet they bring me more joy than records worth $100+ that I bought to fill out a collection.

Glad I went with the band version pink. I don’t mind when colors are wacky and don’t match, but I can’t deny enjoying a good color scheme when it does work.

Hot take: the Acts dip hard after Act III. The back half have their moments but let’s be real for a second. Also gonna’ pretend Migration just never happened.
