What you’re describing sounds like Converge or maybe 90% of what Ballou masters at God City. These singles are not that. Instead of “challenging, noisy, loud, and over-the-top”... I’m definitely hearing “brittle, muffled, clipped and under-128-kbps”. Stoked you’re stoked though. I want to be hyped on this but I’ll turn in my badge as a Baroness superfan, I guess.

It is probably unfavorable in the long term for consumers to have the mindset that this type of practice is ok. It opens the door for more exploitation of the consumer by businesses who are willing to falsely advertise rather than those that won't. This rewards dishonest businesses and therefore punishes honest ones. If the only response continues to be: "You grump - more people will be able to get tha vinylz doe! :)) YAS YAS MOOR PRESSING" Then I will continue to react negatively to the practice of upping a stated pressing limit after it has sold out.

3-5 distributors claimed to have found lost overstock, a week ago. Of everyone ordering copies, < 10% are being fulfilled based off everything I’m hearing. You didn’t miss a massive repress. Seems like a few copies sprout up at random web shops and disappear immediately. What I don’t get is why it’s cited as a pre-order. Did one warehouse find a few crates, and everyone selling copies are listing them as pre-sales while inventory shows up? One of the listings last week showed a 5/17 “release date” for their pre-order. HHV’s shows 5/24. A lot of this situation doesn’t make sense, but it’s cool that some people are actually getting copies, either way. Albeit a bit banged up. Better than $300 on Discogs for a mint copy, though.

Pressing a different color/variant (which I support) is completely unrelated to changing a product's features after selling it to people, which is what this practice amounts to. Also irrelevant is the extent of the false advertising - whether they upped the pressing by 10 or 10,000 after advertising and selling it as fewer:

I am def. no expert but I know that can easily fund a very basic web forum for probably that long but to get one that actually runs great with heavy traffic and tons of pictures/gifs would probably be a bit more pricey but I still say they're good for quite awhile since the money is still rolling in lol.. That's insane though, under 24 hours and already over 3k. VMP better be selling off or releasing some epic titles soon because they just pissed off the hive and last I checked there prices were also raised on many older ROTM. It's too bad how this always happens sooner or later as a company grows, i'm sure the customer service will be going to shit soon as well which was one of the main selling points for me. Besides the recent De La albums I just wait for the secondary market on the majority of there "less popular" releases anyways and usually end up getting them for over half off.
