  1. I can't comment directly on the sound of this particular release, but I do have a bit of info going forward. Tooth and Nail (Solid State) has begun to turn their vinyl production over to a new individual. There are a few things that were already mostly done before the switch (this, the first Chariot, SF59 Gold) so I would expect them to be mostly like what they have been putting out. BUT, by the end of the year there will be a number of reissues that will be done via the new process. There is some stuff that people have been asking for for a while, as well as a couple titles I personally never thought would happen, being pressed for the first time. What does that mean? - Expect MUCH improved vinyl mastering. ( I have heard the test pressing for one of these releases and it was stunningly clear) -Less bare bones packaging, reimagined art, more unique detail on any particular release -Less plain solid colors, more inventiveness in the vinyl colorways -I would also expect a little better marketing. Most of their stuff has just been dropped haphazardly when it comes in. I think they will hype a few things a bit more. -A lot more involvement from the bands; Forewards, special input on artwork etc. -Pricing may vary more on the new stuff a little more than it has. T&N is NOT making much on vinyl as they have to license virtually every catalog title. When they sell stuff @$10 I would bet that is breaking even or maybe even below cost. Depending on the inventiveness of the packaging, I would expect a few titles to cost more than $20. The only difference this time is the price should be worth it.

  2. If we judged artists on their lowest points there would be no art left to appreciate.

  3. Us lossless nerds NEED our download codes 😂

  4. I’m definitely glad to not be regularly sweating fuckin download codes like A LOT of other board members. Yoooo you like music so damn much that you are pumping all this money into physical media yet you crave a digital version but can’t square up a hundredish bucks a year for a decent streaming service? Ya ok...

  8. Holy shit! Can we talk about how terrible this album is? One listen through and they lost me with this one. RIP Turnover 2009-2018

  9. Dumb indeed, but if they want to run a sale I guess that is their prerogative. Rather than do the cancel/re-order gymnastics I just picked up an extra copy along with a few other things I had been eyeing. Going to make it into a holiday gift for a friend.

  10. Just finished too. Even better than expected, I feel like the singles were the (for lack of a better term) weakest tracks. Anyone who says these songs all sound the same this time around needs to stop listening to music as well lol.

    Shoegaze/Dream Pop Thread

Just came across this album that came out today & it rips. Louder, heavier, slightly noisy shoegaze. Parts of it reminds me of the heavier first half of the Dead Swords album. But the whole album keeps that energy. http://wearetimelost.bandcamp.com/album/dont-remember-me-for-this

  18. usually T&N doesn't do a pre-order period, so it should ship within Merchnow's usual handling time (1-7 days)

  19. Exactly. People assuming you only dislike these albums just because they are not Peripheral Vision is a lazy argument. It is possible for an album to lack any depth, be forgettable, and hold no lasting value to a person. This isn't new, and Turnover didn't invent the boring album, they just perfected it (ohhhhhhhhhhh!)

  20. Yep. They lost me with their last one and likely won't get me back. I'm officially "I like their old stuff" status.

  21. Pretty sure I said this before, but it’s really funny how bent out of shape y’all are getting about a band that changes their sound on every album they’ve released. Now they’re ripping off Captured Tracks band from 2010 that we’re ripping off C86/Flying Nun bands. Haha

  22. I still like five songs. And I think it is better than Good Nature. I would tell everyone listen to the record a few times through prior to judgement. And no it isn’t another Peripheral Vision but I am ok with that.

  31. Finished up my 31 for 31 with some classics. 29. The Evil Dead : Reimagined (4k restoration with new score) - super cool seeing this on a big screen. 30. Puppet Master II 31. Halloween III : Season of the Witch and A Nightmare on Elm Street III : Dream Warriors. Also looks like Creepshow is getting a second season. Based on the 5 episodes I've watched, I think it's fun, but hardly must watch horror.

  32. They always do a Halloween event sale, it was weird with this and Norma Jean though, because they were already both sold out. Also, kinda cool, The Act was apparently #3 on the Billboard vinyl charts last week... although, who knows if they even exist...

  33. Trying too hard now. Protip: don't bother listening to something you already want to troll so you can sound legit. That's already Tets' shtick. I don't know what Paramore even sounds like for instance but their threads are great fun.

  34. I like it! But just as Good Nature, they released it way to late. At least for us in the northern hemisphere. These are summer jams imo, not suited for autumn/winter. 🌴

  40. Agree that this is one of the greatest EPs of all time, and includes one of the greatest intros of all time. All the way Down 2 Tha Last Roach, front to back, rapid fire bangers. I remember taking two vacations to LA when I was between 13 & 16, circa 1994-1996, and we didn't vacation much [at least far away]. Being from Minnesota, we definitely didn't have hip-hop/rap radio stations or anything of the kind. With no internet, all of this was really spread through word of mouth. Crazy to think about... But anyways, (probably on 92.3 The Beat I'm guessing) they played all this stuff. I remember hearing It's On, and thinking that was so cool hearing it on an actual radio station. It's On was supposed to be the first single, and I wanna say this EP was set to be released before Real Muthaphukkin G's was even recorded. I forget how/why it came about, but I found super fascinating to learn that Eazy-E met B.G. Knocc-Out and Dresta the day that song was recorded. In the studio. Literally picked up from the Compton streets, brought to the studio, and first thing they did was jump in the booth & fire off those (at least in my mind) legendary verses. Eazy loved it, and was on board with those boys from that point. If you guys are interested in this stuff too, youtube DJ Vlad's interviews with them. They tell all the stories, and if you guys are anything like me, you'll be glued to it. I always thought B.G. Knocc-Out and Dresta were very underrated. They killed it on this EP. Has anybody heard their solo album Real Brothas? Fucking great West Coast G-funk flavor. That should've been a huge album, I thought. I would love to see what they all would have done, especially with Bone coming into the fray a year or so later, had Eazy never died.

  41. New Lacing ftw! New album Without, their second, released on Hallowe'en night 👻🌙🕷️🕸️ Out of /264 on clear vinyl with dark/light grey smoke. Looking at the track times, it would seem as if it can't be a 1LP even w/o the bonus track, and yet it's 15 USD. https://eldermagickrecords.bandcamp.com/album/without

  48. Listening to this digitally, so far it's pretty good, with the exception of 555. It's like a 90's boy band song mixed with that "Daylight come and me want to go home," song from Beetlejuice. https://68.media.tumblr.com/dbab16b57f3130905208001a173ae8f0/tumblr_ne4bc1zrcw1qhoa53o1_500.gif
