The age of consent may vary by state, but sending pornographic material to a minor and child pornography laws don't, which is part of the issue here. There was definitely a crime committed. Just because it wasn't reported immediately by a minor, a child in the eyes of the law, because they thought what was happening was ok at the time makes no difference. Wow. I hate to use this argument because it really shouldn't matter, but say you had a kid, or a young sister who had this happen with them. You wouldn't take issue with it just because "they wanted it?" You're coming off as super scummy, dude. What if he was doing this to 10 years olds, but "they wanted it?" would you be ok with it then? If not, why are you ok with it happening to someone slightly older even though it's still illegal? Sounds like you do condone what happened from everything you said, which is why everyone coming at you is having such an issue.

At the end of the day chris brown is still successful and has a flourishing career, and in my opinion hes done worse. I don't know the allegations definitely made me look at Jesse in a different way but I still like most of their discography. It's a scientific fact that your brain isn't fully developed, especially in the cause/effect and decision making areas at age 15. Most of the countries that consider 14,15,16 as adult are also considered third world countries; the life expectancy is much shorter than in a first world country. It sucks, but that's the way it is and people have to start living adult lives sooner in those places which is why they typically have a lower age of majority. (In Italy the age of majority is 18, so I'm not sure why you think it's less.) It's personal to me because I'm close with a number of women who were raped or sexual exploited as teens or younger, many of whom at the time thought what was happening was normal. It's not normal, and it's not ok for an adult man to do what he did to a 15 year old. I cite US law because that's where he lives, and that's the law he broke. It's still not ok in general for an adult man to manipulate and groom young women into doing/watching sexual acts no matter what country you're in. And just because people sell their young daughter's as brides in Pakistan or whatever country you're thinking of doesn't mean it's ok. Many people in countries that do things like that are actually trying to pass laws to reform those practices. You say you're not defending him, but then you immediately throw a 15 year old girl under the bus as "guilty" when she was being manipulated by an adult. You might as well just come out and say what you keep implying, "Sounds like she was kind of a slut and got what she deserved." But if you'd read the site I'd linked and listened to the other users, you'd know that while, yes, it's physically very easy to report a crime, many go unreported for the numerous reasons listed on that website. You think this gal's friend group wouldn't have possibly completely abandoned her if she'd gone to the police about their favorite musician? That's just one reason it may have been hard for her to go to the police. And as a child that reason seems very important. What if something happened to you as a kid, but you knew that by telling anyone about it you'd possibly lose every friend you had? Would you still tell anyone? Not too many kids would.

You’re making the assumption that everyone is capable of having that type of understanding at that age which is definitely not the case. As stated by others, kids make impulsive decisions. Do you think the regret comes from them realizing that they were being groomed, perhaps? Maybe realized that this guys actions may not be so innocent?
