I don't think anyone knows for certain. There was a huge thread at the Hoffman forums about it and those nerds didn't come to any conclusion. Direct contact for sure is the most problematic. Whats unknown is a paper sleeve seperating them. Or being in a jacket with a PVC sleeve on the outside (like those new Stereolab reissues - or those old Simply Vinyl sleeves). Personally, I toss them all. Its just not worth the risk.

Picture discs have the same problem. This has happened to me on a couple pic discs.

This shirt showed up today... it's plain on the front, but has a bunch of code on the back... I haven't had time to figure it out, but I'm thinking it the tracklist for the new album.

So I MAY not be 100% accurate but I did decode all the binary from the back of the shirt (wasn’t too easy) and im pretty sure it’s the track list. Some don’t make too much sense though so let’s see how accurate it is when the actual track list drops.

I know some of you dudes appreciate a nice piece of artwork, and David D'Andrea (awesome dude, btw) did some pretty sweet posters for Levitation Fest, and one specifically for Windhand. This is the way to do it. I have an oversized mailer that’s dedicated entirely to (the few) sleeves that have a printed designed. In case I want to pull them out and revisit them with a fond smile, I guess? They’re all just chilling in there, gassing each other out. One day I’ll open it and inhale half of them.

Those printed plastic sleeves are the absolute worst in my opinion because not only are you forever dealing with the will-it-or-won't-it of PVC damage but they almost always have at least one crack or seam split and there's no real way to replace them. I'm pretty sure I've passed on one or two releases packaged like this just to avoid the hassle...

Damn, really? I saw the news of the advanced 2-CD that he announced yesterday. I was unaware that vinyl was happening... at least anytime soon. Tremendous news if true. That album’s a beaut.

Envy played a show in Malaysia last weekend. Still getting used to not seeing Masahiro Tobita on stage right. They played two new songs from the new album, A Faint New World and A Step in the Morning Glow.

300-ish copies of the split were sold. 100 of the yellow are available. That's only 1/3 of the customers. But also - they all already own a copy of this, so giving specifically 1/3 of the 300 orders a chance to re-buy a second copy privately seems unreasonable as hell lol. *Coming from someone who bought the split thinking it was /100 but not up in arms about it
