  7. Thanks! Do you know if the bottom two are on sale anywhere now?

  8. For future reference indie retail exclusives always have a sticker saying what the variant is. If you order one and it doesn’t have that it’s 100% the wrong variant.

  10. I sent them an email earlier just like, "hey, this isn't the variant that listed on my receipt. I'd like to return it." I'm just hoping they won't be sketchy about it because I didn't know it was the wrong one until I actually opened it. In their defense it had a "limited edition variant" sticker on the shrink wrap, but still, I paid a couple extra bucks compared to the "standard press" to get that tri-color variant. I'd hope they'd be cool about it and let me just ship it back to them at my own expense for a refund. Worst case scenario they tell me to go f**k myself and I sell this on Discogs or something. I really like the site and have confidence they'll work with me.

  11. Members of Bone Awl and they were once low-fi black metal. Changed their sound a bit and its way more punk but it’s still good of 100 sold out. https://store.relapse.com/item/80992

  12. Found out about these guys recently. I'm really diggin what they are doing, the backstory is funny also: "Jazz Sabbath (1968) were at the forefront of the new English jazz movement. Their album would be released on 13 Feb 1970, but founding member and pianist Milton Keanes was hospitalised with a massive heart attack. When Milton was released from hospital in Sep 1970, he found out that a band from Birmingham had since released two albums containing so-called metal versions of his songs." https://jazzsabbath.bandcamp.com/album/jazz-sabbath

  13. Is it up to that much? Damn. I had it on my want-list for a long time but got tired of all the absurd asking prices, so I removed it and just hoped a repress would happen. I guess there’s a possibility of scooping it up on Discogs down the road for a bit cheaper, but I think that’s a super slim chance, myself. I know I’m not gonna’ risk it.

  14. Also this sounds dope af, keep an update of what happens! My dad passed a while back in 2018 and I was going through his old collection not long ago and found a sealed 1971 press Gil Scott-Heron - Pieces of a Man*. Keeping it that way.

  15. Even though these guys sound more funky jazz, this thread needed to be bumped. Snagged that purple version, even though it was 'spensive with shipping. https://sorcerers.bandcamp.com/album/in-search-of-the-lost-city-of-the-monkey-god

  16. First off, I came across this Shabaka and the Ancestors PO and thought it looked interesting. I'm still digesting the music, but, so far, so good. Amzn PO Write up and strange video Here. In other news, I have a neighbor who has a massive collection of records that were her parents'. Rooms and rooms full and they are looking to someday sell. I tried to get them to let me look at them and they said "it's just a mess". Pulled my hair out. Finally they were having another garage sale and I went back and got them to at least let me look through one shelf. Right away I found about 10 Jackie McClean records. Unfortunately, her parents really played the records and most suffered from condition problems, but there were also sealed OJC pressings and the like. There were also NY pressings of Blue Note and Bergenfield deep groove Prestige. There is tremendous potential in this collection and if it were 20 years ago, I would have really been losing my shit trying to get them to let me go through more of them. Apparently, they are letting some random guy they met at the flea market go through them and help them price them. I told them about Discogs and how to look up prices, so they wouldn't get cheated. Hopefully, I will be able to get back in. We did exchange numbers and maybe it will pay off. I was tempted to throw out a nice number for the entire collection, but I just don't think I have the energy anymore to deal with it. My guesstimation is that I would have to rent a moving truck and it would eat up a lot of time. I think if all the titles were in a lot better condition, I'd probably do it. I'd bet there are some sealed super rare jazz and soul buried in there. Maybe I will get to find out!

  17. Also am I reading/guessing this right? The alt cover is the "Lowlife" version so they're going to try 12 different covers? Like how they did 6 covers for their second album? As for the song, it's alright. I like the pop side of it but I still feel like I want a few hardcore-influenced songs on there.

  18. I think the represses may actually be happening? MusicDirect is adamant that they have them on hand, right now. Copies have begun popping up for all volumes on Amazon via third party sellers for close-to-list prices as well. https://www.musicdirect.com/vinyl/Trent-Reznor-and-Atticus-Ross-Watchmen-Volume-1-Music-From-the-HBO-Series-(180g-Vinyl-LP)

  19. the traditional and most effective solution is a shelf. Particularly if you live in an older place with wood floors, all the anti vibration doodads in the world may not solve the issue.

  20. Funny. I love Giant Steps but hated A Love Supreme for the longest time, especially since I already revere him. But when I first heard it, the chanting 'a love supreme' annoyed the shit out of me. Nice contribution to the thread. ... As far as new jazz, I can't think of anything I've bought recently. I've been on a soul kick which means I need to bump Lexicon's thread.
