Larger labels are always trying to protect their investments. Licenses always expire at some point. Not only is it easier to license out a finite amount, when the label decides on a number (in this case, 1000) they probably want to gauge interest while limiting their risk. Now that they saw how fast it sold and what people are willing to pay, they now know they can license it out for higher fees or press it themselves. For instance, I licensed out a particular record several years ago and the label allowed me to press 500 copies. They sold out in a matter of days. When we asked to do a repress or talk about pressing other records by this particular band, we were told something to the effect of ‘we saw how successful the presale went. We’re going to handle future vinyl releases for this band.’ sometimes there’s a bigger picture that may or may not consider the best interests of the artist, the fans, or the label. But you know, capitalism.

You're telling me. I've seen the album art around for ages. I think in the past, between the art for Nocturnal, the font, and the color scheme... I just assumed we were dealing with Drive OST: the band. Maybe that deterred me a bit. My loss.

And just because something goes for "$150" doesn't mean $40 isn't high for vinyl. Edit: also don't just assume that people don't know what we are talking about and the ins and outs of it all. Lots of us have been collecting for numerous years. We get it. And I never said once that I felt anyone was being ripped off. Super fuckihg cool for NJ to sell out of this. I'm happy for them.

Welp, I'll be the one to say it. Are you seriously denying Pure Noise pulls that shit?! Almost every fuckin release you need to buy some hoodie/pin/bag/frisbee/whatever in order to get the rarest vinyl variant. Let me say this, Jake is an old friend of mine and I have nothing but respect fom him and the label. You represent that label, therefor I respect you. But common man, don't call someone out for cracking jokes about the fact that you guys pull that crap. As someone who ran a label myself for years, I get it. You gotta move records, you gotta pay bills, hell pure noise even has employees, that something I know nothing about. I had bundles in my webstore for a few preorders myself, but ultimately it was just pissing off my customers. Which results in less records sold, which hurts releases/bands, and so on and so on. So I eventually moved away from the bundles. And starting seeing how it felt on the other end as a customer. It sucks! I can't tell you the amount of releases by Pure Noise I passed on and just said "I'll grab that eventually" because I didn't want to pay for the extra crap. We're here for the vinylz bro! Not the other goodies we're being suckered into buying. Hopefully if anything comes of this conversation, we can get the rarest version of the new Strike Anywhere LP by itself. No disrespect. Long live PN!

Yeah I would contact ebay for sure. That's bullshit. They're probably looking for ebay to give them a refund. I've found that about 1 in 10 buyers on ebay are a pain in the ass lately. I had a guy knowingly buy a bootleg from me, and then complained to ebay that it was a boot and that there was a crease in the jacked. I sent him a few messages saying he can return it butnever heard back. I guess ebay issued him a full refund. Some times it's not even really worth the time with the ebay fees, paypal fees, and dealing with shitty people. I now take pictures of every step of packing a record Ahh yeah sorry a little off topic haha

Went for the cream/green splatter on BSM. Even took the rare step of ordering the white t-shirt bundle, although now I'm concerned people will think I'm called Owen. The single is great. So glad he's pairing with Sean Carey again.

Grabbed the /300 from his store but yeah I'm wondering if the PV Version will be better. Gold/Green splatter on cream sounds like invisibility.

he said last album that a lot of the lyrics sound dire but it's because it's his release for a lot of those negative feelings. that said - who knows.

I totally get it. I would love to buy this knowing that it is all going to the band. I was actually kind of gutted it ended up selling out so quick because I was actually reconsidering. For me though it's more of a personal cap/principle I've put on myself lately. I can't keep spending $30+ every time something gets released that I want. It's too much now. Back when I first started collecting single LPs were like $16-18 plus a few bucks for shipping. Double LPs were usually $5 or so more. Now it's like $28-30 just for a single and $35-40 for a double. It's crazy. I pretty much completely stopped buying Mondo releases because they've gotten so high up there. I still do really want to own this album but maybe it will be a trade with someone down the road. I'd much rather use the trade bait I have sitting around than the $40 in my bank account.
