  1. Edit #4: Confirmed on sale 7/7 at noon eastern via https://underoathobservatory.com. Edit #3: Answers allegedly forthcoming the morning of 7/3. However, we at least have confirmation that these are NOT live recordings. Edit #2: Thanks for tuning in to today's episode of bizarre vinyl adventures! All links are currently down and we have genuinely no clue what we're getting if we're getting anything! Hooray! Will we get some answers in the near future? In the immortal words of Mark Wahlberg in The Departed, "Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe fuck yourself." Weirdly sneaky, vague represses up on Facebook of all places. Looks like they're calling them "Observatory" represses, I guess going along with their recent series of reminiscent Twitch broadcasts? All I know is, get 'em while they're hot. All on "180g translucent black vinyl" with the original standard CD artwork plus a pressing-exclusive slip band. Box Set They're Only Chasing Safety Define the Great Line Lost in the Sound of Separation Plus a Slipmat No word on ship date. It appears the box set has free standard shipping, but the solo releases do not. Edit: Okay so apparently the tiny text on the slip band says "Exclusive series of 3 full albums performed in their entirety via livestream." Take that as you will.

  5. This has honestly been such a wild, fun night. So curious to see how this turns out. I don't think they could've done an about-face from new live pressings to studio represses as a reactionary move with the kind of horrific red tape Capitol CMG is known for, though. Also: their Facebook is back up, but no shop tab and the links are still dead.

  6. So it's Underoath's manager. He reached out to ask a few questions and said they will have more info tomorrow morning about what happened. He also told me to let the internet know that this is NOT live recordings.

  7. It relieves me to hear you say the pinkshiny glitter copy is almost unlistenable because there have been drunken nights where I’ve come way too close to dropping 50 gbp on it.

  8. They would be INSANE to want to refund anyone who bought this before it was made clear that it wasn’t what it looked like. They should be crossing their fingers they don’t get 100 or so requests for a refund.

  9. Don’t think you’ll have an issue grabbing one of these at cost with the sheer amount that would get refunded.

  10. They took Erase Me to a whole new level, but if this is a live album then, seriously, FUCK ME!

  11. Holy shit, that’s how you con. 1 – Advertise your best albums as reissues. 2 – They’re actually live recordings. 3 – Sell a bunch of units at $85. 4 – Vanish. 5 – Profit. Post-hardcore Christian screamo Houdinis.

  12. Yeah. “Repressing is the original packaging + Observatory OBI band“ raises 2 questions for me. 1 – Repress as in, pressed again. There has been no live Underoath album, right? 2 – Didn’t DTGL and LITSOS have different art for their vinyl releases? The mockup shows the CD art, which isn’t the original in my books.

  13. yeah had the same thought. it's probably just a standard black 180g, especially if the mockups are any indication. a bit surprised we aren't seeing some colorways given how ubiquitous they are in the vinyl game for bands in and around this scene. also had the same thoughts on Underoath more or less. my favorite era. love the hooks of TOCS, and the innovation of the next two (esp LITSOS) were huge for me growing up. still return to LITSOS a good amount. peerless drumming. i have also come to really appreciate Disambiguation in retrospect.

  14. ...That’s not to shit on this release by any means. Just a little doubt that the variant is even possible, for anyone curious. TOCS is 100% nostalgia for me but the brand of screamo just hasn’t aged all that well in my books, and I don’t know how often I’d actually spin it. I think DTGL and LITSOS both did some really cool things at the time, too. But, man... that box seems tailor-made for me. As far as I’m concerned, these 3 albums were peak Underoath, and easily received the most playtime when this band was at their height of interest for my teen / early 20s tastes.

I like Leech. I thought they were right Prog before they moved in the postrock arena. Pretty sure I still have Zerotonine Days on CD. I can deal with getting The Stolen View before If We Get There...

  17. Ah ok, that makes sense. I definitely want to check out Everything Else Matters then. I just picked up Blankenberge-More and have jammed it quite a bit. Killer record. Surprised I’ve just now come across them. And holy shit I’m glad I snagged that Kestrels record. That thing is wild. New jam with Mascis is awesome too. Edit: Just checking my order confirmation for the new Kestrels and it says Transparent blue w/ rainbow splatter. Going back to the Darla store, the option now says clear w/rainbow splatter. I don’t really care it looks great, just wondering if there was a mix up.

  19. It arrived and it looks nothing like the pressing picture. The only thing I can think is that I ended up with some other pressing? But I can't identify which one... Received Mock up

  31. Ohhhhhh fuck! Guessing just black for both. Hoping for more. Went to the Retreat From The Sun show in April 2017, when the picture disc was first available and had no problem paying the $35 for it. But it’ll be nice to own this, properly, and soooo much better along side Totally Crushed Out. Seeing them last year at The Smell May have been the hottest show I’ve ever been to in 25 years.

  33. Just to be serious for a moment but I really cant wait to have this on the turntable Could be the biggest surprise album ever to me. Id have to really think. In Rainbows is a good one but you knew Radiohead was going to be putting something out soon. This was from beyond left field (to me anyway).
