  7. What a time to make something available that requires people to go to into enclosed spaces with other humans to get it. Edit: glad she's supporting indies, though.

  9. Deep Discount did a huge add of titles to their Vinyl Blowout Bin section. They had about 780 vinyl titles on Monday - I am seeing 3,300 now. Lots of new and recent titles in many music categories.

  10. Vintage Vinyl in St Louis got signed CDs as well. From what I understand Taylor was personally paying the entire payroll for Grimeys in Nashville for awhile while they were closed. For sure she is doing more than her part to help out indie stores. - and as a side I believe I read that starting in October Billboard is changing the rules on bundling records with tickets/other items, so guessing those may become less prevalent.

  12. I like it, I think its cool, its moody, its a strong statement and visually engaging. Would be 100% cool with it as the final art. Not LITERALLY visually similar, but gives me sort of NIN vibes. Also, it aligns well with the album closer lyric "stare through the haunted maze in your eyes"

  21. I feel like its one of those songs they figured out better on tour (like Terrible Love, or Squalor Victoria). The live version is fantastic and has so much energy. The album version feels limp to me. The Pull of You also follows this pattern, but the studio version is pretty great. Anyway, maybe just cut Roman Holiday and the 3 choir tracks and the record is tighter. Maybe move around some of the songs as well so there isn't a stretch of same temp songs in there.

  22. Not sure who vinlymnky is but they've got it cheap(er). Looks like the 9LP is already sold out there. https://www.vinylmnky.com/products/tom-petty-wildflowers?variant=32533521596495 Edit: looks like they're a subscription service.

    PO: State Champs "Unplugged"

I got mine in a couple of days ago. It looks like MerchNow isn’t using Frustration Free mailers anymore as the last two packages I received from them were in old vinyl mailers. Needless to say my State Champs record came in damaged. I have had nothing but trouble with MerchNow and they do nothing to fix the problem. @IanRees please get Pure Noise away from MerchNow or ask them to go back to the Frustration Free mailers. It sucks when you’re forced to buy something from them and they won’t fix their mistakes.

  34. Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away coming soon in November. Pre-orders are up on HMV but I'm sure these will start popping up soon everywhere else. The original soundtrack for these 2 are both 2xLP but the second disc appears to only have music on side-C. *HMV isn't shipping outside of Japan right now. Just tried checking out and they wouldn't let me complete my order. Spirited Away Spirited Away (Image Album) Howl's Moving Castle Howl's Moving Castle (Image Album)

  36. Honest fan review: I took all this in just now, liners, lyrics, art, and even bonus 7". Packaging: would've loved a gatefold with die cut, and that's my only complaint. More of a preference, even. It's good. There is no denying that. If you like Cassadaga and/ or The People's Key, this album will stand strong for you. There really are mild callbacks to older albums, especially in the lyrics. TPK is probably one of my favorite BEs LPs, probably due to life experiences, and this will more than likely follow closely especially because of oddly specific relatable content (recently dead brothers and the like), but I'd argue the album as a whole is largely vague enough to be prophetic (as is not uncommon in later Bright Eyes albums) and even specific enough (to me) to be eerie. Overall, as a huge fan who has waited a long time to hear this: on first listen 8.5/ 10. +Bonus points because the LPs sounded really clean. I usually only get listening time at night, so I have $120 headphones to really listen. They are usually really good at bringing out noise, clicks, and pops 🙄 However, these LPs were very quiet despite side C being a little warp-y. The 45, on the other hand, was a little more noisy. It's like if 45 were turned into a 45: orange, obnoxiously loud where it needn't be, and covered in blood.

  39. Of course I have, I think most people have resold something at a value that’s been established over time. That’s never been an argument. You buy a record because you enjoy the artist or the release. A year later, maybe 2 or 3, you’re making space on the shelf and you realize that $80 is the median price that record now goes for. You’re not a monster for trying to sell it around that value even if you paid $25 PPD for it back in 2017. But that’s not the reality for stl_ben, RareLimiteds, and a dozen other scuzzy flippers who deliberately lurk VC and Reddit to hop on “hyped” releases for an immediate resale. Ben and the gang probably haven’t heard of 70% of the shit they peddle. They’re going purely off comments (interest), label value, artist history sales, etc. It’s pathetic. I’ve missed out on releases I would’ve genuinely loved to own and hold onto — because I was in a conference at work or had some real world responsibilities to attend to — and found them for sale on Discogs just 3-4 days later, for quadruple the sale price. That sucks. Those people suck. I think it’s fair to voice that. Saying “oh well you all have the same opportunity, no sense in complaining” is garbage. Having some greasy haired couch goblin call me out as not being an adult for “minding my own business”, because I’m venting about instances where I miss out on cool shit because of adult obligations... well, that’s garbage too. It’s a shitty practice and if you’re cool with it or keen on turning a blind eye, that’s fine. But don’t come at me just because I’m not.

  42. I saw that. I don't think there's anything to it either, although the similarity with the dots is striking. It would be weird to release your album art on a tour poster previous to the album dropping. However, I do like it if the art does end up being it. Supposedly Warner or a band affiliate was deleting those posts or asked for it to be, but not sure how accurate that is. Spoilers about the album:

  44. Wondering if anyone could offer some advice or experienced this before: I sold a record on eBay on August 17th (I bought this album brand new, played it one time and never spun again, still in shrink wrap and everything). Someone swooped in at last minute to bid on the item and payed immediately. I shipped out the record the same day. They just received it about an hour ago and messaged me saying there is a "large scratch" on side B that causes skipping in half the songs. I know this is not true as I played it once before and no skipping occurred, and I visually inspected the record before shipping it to make sure there were no flaws. I don't offer returns/refunds on my eBay so I'm unsure how to approach this situation. They are threatening to open an INR against me and were extremely rude in their message. I have 100% positive feedback on my eBay and don't want something like this to affect future sales but at the same time I don't want to allow a return if they are a scammer. The item was only $14 so not a lot. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Edit: They just sent me a photo of the scratch but from the picture I can tell that's not the record I sold them. The coloring is off.
