The year was 2014. I had just gotten into cassette tapes after dusting off my father's old Sony Walkman and starting to play his 100 or so old tapes from the 80s and 90s. I had taken two or three trips to my local record store buying 20 or so dollar bin tapes at a time based mostly on the look of the covers. About two moths in I typed in "tapes" on craigslist on a whim; I ended up stumbling on a local ad for "1600+ tapes" with an asking price of 220$. The picture on the listing was of a shipping pallet completely loaded with 16 or so banker boxes full of tapes. My whole body started shaking at the very thought of this many tapes all for sale at once; the only problem was I only had 40$ to my name. So..... casting aside all humility I sent out an email to the seller reading something along the lines of " Hey, I think your collection is awesome and honestly your asking price is way more than fair, however I am a broke high school student so I can only offer you 40$. I know this is a very low offer but it is all I have to offer. I hope you find someone to pay your asking price but if nobody else ends up wanting them let me know. Thank you for your time." I expected to never hear back from him until three weeks later on an otherwise uninteresting Wednesday when he sent me an email saying " I have been storing the tapes in my bosses' warehouse (some kind of lumber business I think) and he says I have until the end of the day to get them out or they are going in the dumpster so ill accept your 40$ offer". Extremely exited I drove out with my Dad the second school ended that day to pick up the tapes. When i got there I soon realized what was listed as 1600+ tapes was in fact about 2,000 tapes. It took only 10ish minutes to load them into the family van which was subsequently riding down on the shocks on the way home with no visibility through the rear view mirror. I conned a friend of mine into helping me haul them all upstairs to my room later that day. I had absolutely no floor space in my room for about three weeks until I finally talked my Dad into buying me an Ikea kallax 4 by 4 cube shelf and another 2 by 4 cube shelf to stack on top of that. The tapes filled the 4 by 4 completely and took up about half the 2 by 4. To be fair a lot of what I ended up with in the collection was grunge, hip hop, mainstream 80s pop and that kind of stuff but there were a lot of cool finds mixed in too and at 2 cents a tape I wasn't about to complain. Sadly today I live in a small apartment and most of my tapes are currently in my parents storage unit as they have since sold the house (honestly really nice of them to let me take up like 1/5 of their unit which they pay for so I am not complaining). While I did bring most of my favorites with me when I moved out I cant wait until the day I move into a house and can pull the rest of my collection out of storage. Sorry this story was so long and thanks for reading.

I watched it right around when it came out and don't remember caring for it much. I will give it credit for being a pretty faithful adaptation of a book that was seemingly unadaptable. I also really didn't like the ending of the book and the movie takes a hit because of that too. Carla Gugino was perfect casting though!

Got this yesterday. Probably exactly for the reason that Coheed would want the re-release to correspond to the tour, so we can expect it to get bumped again. I'm no big city ID expert, but I don't think Winter is when COVID is going to say "adios" and all the venues will open back up.

I enjoyed it quite a bit! There are some nitpicky things that I didn't like, but overall I thought it was a pretty good. The way the past and present crossed over reminded me of Hill House at times. Starting to think maybe it's just his King adaptations I don't like.

Anybody on here have the inside scoop on the variants/limited to #'s for this record? So far, this is what I've been able to find. Transparent Cloudy Clear w/ Opaque Grey, Black, Cream Heavy Splatter /300 (Preorder) Opaque Grey w/ Cloudy Clear, Black, Cream Heavy Splatter /700 (Preorder) Opaque Grey /? (Retail/MerchNow) Opaque Grey in Black /? (FYE Exclusive) Opaque Grey in Clear /300 (Banquet Exclusive) Half Opaque Grey/Half Cloudy Clear w/ Splatter /? (Tour Exclusive) According to whoever runs Hopeless' Twitter account, they claim that there's going to be a tour variant and that Banquet Records has an exclusive as well, as you can see here: But when I looked further, it looks like Banquet Records simply has the Grey variant from looking at their Instagram, as you can see here: Going to wait it out until I get my preorders from MerchNow to see if there's anything remotely different or if they're one in the same, but figured it was worth a shot to see if anyone on here could shed any light. I'll also note that ShopRadioCast has their copies listed as "Grey Clear," so that's what led me to believe that there might be two different Grey variants. And another note, Travis replied to one of my posts in the Hot Topic thread a couple weeks ago saying that they're only getting the regular Grey retail, no exclusive. And Hopeless' tweet to me obviously confirms that, haha. I variant collect Yellowcard and will have everything once this release is out and I figure out the variants. UPDATE (9/28/2016): I guess Banquet was just holding off a day until they officially announced their exclusive variant. It's Grey in Clear, as you can see below. Was surprised that the price is super great, even when shipping to the states. After conversion it only came to $30.60, with shipping. Unfortunately, I still haven't had any luck finding out what any of the variants are limited too aside from the two preorder splatter one's. UPDATE 2: There's a tweet that Banquet posted earlier that says the Grey in Clear exclusive variant is limited to /300. UPDATE (10/1/2016): Went to FYE yesterday to pick up their exclusive variant. FYE's website has the variant listed as "Opaque Grey & Black " and the mock up on the website showed Grey with Black smash, essentially. I opened it up, and they had it reversed. The sticker on the shrink wrap said "Grey in Black." Came out super nice in my opinion. I'll try to post a picture when I can. UPDATE (10/7/2016): According to Hopeless' Instagram account, the tour exclusive variant is Half Grey/Half Clear w/ Splatter.

No movement on my hoodie bundle either. Got my UK order before my US order which is hilarious. My cassette bundle didn't have the art card and was shipped loose in a thin cardboard mailer. Luckily only one case was slightly damaged.
