Followed up with Rise again today. "Guys it's been a week and you're not responding to any of my emails. If I don't hear back you leave me no option other than filing a claim with my credit card company. Please let me know if this record is limited to /1000 still, like it was advertised when I purchased it. If you have changed it, I am no longer interested in this order." No response email but they canceled my order haha. Safe to assume it's no longer limited lol.3 points

Weezer "OK Human"
ethanpricington reacted to Oblivions for a topic
Dang. This isn’t “bad Weezer” but it’s totally not my bag. The single made me think it’d be Weezer but without the focus on guitars, more laid back, slight 70s pop vibes but, after the first 2-3 songs, which are a bit interesting, this becomes a more straight up homage to that older pop. If you dig the bands/songwriters referenced in the reviews, check this out. Rivers does a pretty sincere take on their stuff without injecting too much Weezer into it.1 point -

Shitty Rambo reacted to N8TRU for a topic
From 1970 to now I agree. When looking at the last 10 years I don't agree. It's definitely because of the demand in the last decade and trying to increase profit margins which is totally fair. I used to get new, regular price LPs for $12-14 all the time from labels like Topshelf and No Sleep from 2010-2013. CDs were usually $10-15 regular price at the time for a full length from just about any artist or label. Now it's rare to see a single LP under $20. It's made me sell off a lot of my collection in the last couple of years and I don't buy as many records as I used to. I had a few records I bought for $15 just 3 years ago and different people offered me $100-150 for each. The market has totally changed and also people are crazy lol.1 point -

N8TRU reacted to Boaty McBoatface for a topic
Genuine question: wasn’t vinyl cheap during the ‘90s and ‘00s when demand was at its lowest? I started collecting in ‘08 because prices seemed reasonable compared to CDs, which were increasing in price. Scouring around for out of print stuff, I was surprised to find how cheap the original releases were. I’d kill to have had access to a Hot Topic ten years ago, for example. Maybe I’m just bitter because I’m in Canada and the average price of a new record is 40 bucks.1 point -

Went to another store and asked, they only had those three also. They’re not supposed to be on sale until Friday. Hoping to stores get Kill ‘Em All and Master too.1 point -
Weezer "OK Human"
N8TRU reacted to ethanpricington for a topic
Just read the LA Times article/interview with Rivers concerning OK Human...and found this tidbit verrrryyyyy interesting lol: Besides, he’s got plenty to keep him busy, including a movie musical he’s working on about the life of the Buddha — it’s called, uh, “Buddha Superstar” — and two more Weezer albums after “Van Weezer.” The first, tentatively titled “Happy Chill,” is in the style of the band’s mellow 2001 single “Island in the Sun”; the other evokes Franz Ferdinand or the Clash, Cuomo says — “dance music, but it feels like a band.” Looking even further, he’s beginning to imagine his first real solo record, which he describes with two unexpected words: “Barry” and “Manilow.” Singing “All at Once” and another great Houston oldie, “Didn’t We Almost Have It All,” on Instagram in recent months got him wondering why nobody does songs like that anymore: complex, grand-scaled ballads that avoid neat four-chord progressions to summon a real sense of romantic abandon. “And that’s when I thought of Barry Manilow,” he says. “I always loved Barry Manilow. I’d love to do what he does.” Link to the full article: https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/music/story/2021-01-26/weezer-rivers-cuomo-ok-human#null1 point -

Best/Worst Customer Service from a Distro/Label?
IndigoHollow reacted to swallowtales for a topic
Currently I am rather unhappy with Evil Greed. Had a few bad experiences with them now, first I got a warped record from them which I wasn't too annoyed with when they said they couldn't do anything. Gave them another go, and ordered the END record that came out last year (pre-ordered their exclusive version). Unfortunately got caught up in COVID shipping so couldn't be sent for over six months. Because of this I asked them if I could combine with another pre-order (Svalbard Evil Greed exclusive version) Said it would be fine, and because of continued restrictions I did this again with the new Portrayal of Guilt (Evil Greed exclusive version). Get to around shipping time finally (been happy to wait as I thought would get my records!), and they didn't even bother to hold the records I had ordered and paid for for me, so I'm getting told about a year and over six months from paying they don't have them.
