i feel like that argument doesn't really apply anymore. the reason punk/hardcore built it's rep on 7"s is because they were blasting out quick songs and the 7" format was a cheaper and more effective/efficient way of delivering said music. the price of 7"s has priced this out of being useful for that argument. there also used to be exclusive b-sides on 7" singles...which would also warrant their purchase. i'm older, have been collecting for 20+ years, and i do not buy that argument for the 7" in the year 2021

I’ve been very curious about this lately. Is this because you’re in your 20s or because you didn’t start collecting until 5 years ago? A part of what made me, an actual human and, a collector are 7”s. I see all you dingbats complain about them constantly and it’s fucking bewildering to me.

Why press 5000 box sets that sold out almost instantly of a band with fans that have been waiting years for anything from this catalog to get repressed, when those vinyl presses could be shitting out 10 new variants of albums by The Used from nearly 20 years ago. I don’t know, doesn’t make any sense to me.

Looks like its listed as "Out of Stock" as opposed to "Pre-order" on Towerrecords.com so maybe that is a good sign that they can be assured a certain allotment to sell as pre-orders and anyone who ordered there is guaranteed? I don't know. I'm just guessing.

Seeing the 7” (sort of) die, first hand, I know that it’s very hard to try and create and push nowadays. Price points that have been created and escalated shipping rates aren’t helping. But I’m still buying music that’s specific to this format and I will continue to. What’s definitely not helping is folks not buying them for whatever reason. I’m trying to figure out why that is. But yeah, give me that fucking Bronx box set.

I dunno man, you also gotta take into consideration that the cost of 7"s and LPs has doubled and in some cases tripled over the last 15 years. Also kinda seems like bands feel the same way because 7"s aren't as common as they used to be. I'll still grab them here and there but it's mostly just to support the artist or label putting them out. Also it seems like The Bronx are similar to Glassjaw in that they don't make their material easy to get on vinyl. More than likely a licensing thing. I still want that damn rumored LP boxset they hinted at like a decade ago!

I don't really like his first two solo albums. They're not bad but I don't enjoy them. The last one had some hits and overall I liked it a lot. So far with this one I really like Anthem but I don't care for Dose so I'm hesitant to pre-order.

I for one don’t care for etchings in any way shape or form. It’s definitely not a selling point in my mind, I would rather have a blank side than have a price increase for an etching I will never look at for more than a second to see what side the music is on.

We have no idea what September is going to look like. Everyone in this country will have the opportunity to have a vaccine by the end of May. Why would scheduling it in January 2022 make any difference? Quit believing all the fear mongering bullshit you read. It's not like this is tomorrow. If the situation turns sour they can always cancel. Other festivals have been announced (punk rock bowling is the same weekend) and Alabama football is probably going to have 90,000 people in their stadium.

This is gonna be the last time I post until I have the tests approved and these are officially in production to give an update for the people that are patiently waiting. I know what's it's like to wait that long for a pre-order. It fucking blows. We ran into some hangups and it's finally on it's way. This is my first go around. No one that has asked for a refund has been denied. I never said I'm a "popular" member I said I was an active member. I'm very unhappy with the way things have gone as well. I'm just asking people to hang in there because I know that it will be great once it's arrived and things will be 100% the next go around. Anytime I post people just take jabs at me so it's hard for me to just sit there and take it. I love these boards and I love everyone on them. I encourage anyone that's upset to come meet me in person. I've met many people from the boards and have even made some life-long friends from them. Also this isn't my pressing. I didn't setup the pre-order. I'm strictly having create input on the album so that the standards are up to collector's values. That's why I'm being so defensive. Please just hang in there. If the product isn't up to standards when it arrives then I won't do it anymore. I don't want to anyone to be disappointed anymore.
