Tally one more for the anti-7" crew. Only been in the vinyl world for 12 years or so, but I listen to albums in full 99% of the time, start to finish, and said albums are typically longer than 10 minutes. That being said, I avoid 7"s like the plague. Looks like I own about 46 of them and I'm willing to bet that half of those are part of a "deluxe" edition or boxset. Unless the B-side is to die for, the A-side is exclusive to said 7", or it's a standalone EP that isn't available on a 12"... I see no point in collecting them. Least amount of bang for your buck, and lowest amount of music for babysitting the turntable. I get that they're a big staple of the punx scene and super prevalent in the collection of longtime vinyl enthusiasts. But I'm not wasting the money or shelf-space on a 7" track that already exists on a LP that I own, even if it has a live or acoustic versions on the b-side. Just don't have the gotta' catch 'em all fervor to own them, but more power to anyone who gets off about them.4 points

PO: We Came As Romans discography boxset (and TPAS livestream ticket)
meatrocket8 reacted to verb1999 for a topic
I did a search on the site, didn't see that anybody posted about this, so just in case anyone wasn't aware. All 5 full length LPs in "alternate colors", it looks like the covers are all alternate colors, as well. Pretty damn expensive at $200 (+$19 shipping within the U.S.) equating to about $44 per record. Also comes with a ticket to the TPAS livestream which takes place April 23rd, 2021. 1,000 pressed, doesn't ship until October. https://thebarricade.live/products/wcar-vip-vinyl-box-set1 point -

It's been over 20 years since Fuel released their double-platinum album, Something Like Human. Despite a Billboard Top 40 hit with "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)", the album managed to evade a release on vinyl format. Fast forward to 2021, Fuel and Sony/Epic have teamed up with Wargod for Something Like Human's first ever vinyl release! Pressed on 180 gram vinyl with an upgraded gatefold jacket and obi-strip. First press is limited to 1,000 copies worldwide and contains three different colored vinyl variations. Album includes updated liner notes by Carl Bell. On sale 3-26-2021 12 Est. wargodshop.com Can't figure out how to get the pics of the three different variants to link.1 point -

Damn that was a fascinating interview but I shudder to think it was almost the end of Tennis System. I’ve had a core group of about 5 favorite bands for the longest time & Tennis System is the closest band I’ve come to putting at number 6 in a long while. I genuinely love their entire discography. EPs & everything. And the live EPs are some of my favorite things to listen to. I never grow remotely tired of this band & was so stoked to hear about this new album. The first single rips & is immediately obvious that Chadwick had a hand in it. Can’t wait to hear the whole package.1 point

Let's all agree: the artwork and the title...could have used a second, third and maybe even fourth opinion from neutral sources before they were settled on. But Somewhere City was solid enough that I think we can give them the benefit of the doubt on this. Very confused why every variant has a black A/B, tho, that feels "weird just to be weird" to me.1 point -

He is a producer. You probably have heard his work without knowing. turnstile turnover title fight tigers jaw Polar bear club tons more. while he has produced some absolutely stellar albums there are a dozen or so situations where he just buried the vocals to a point where they are inaudible. Although that could be the bands decision to create more of an atmospheric sound. Either way it ends up dividing fanbases.1 point

i feel like that argument doesn't really apply anymore. the reason punk/hardcore built it's rep on 7"s is because they were blasting out quick songs and the 7" format was a cheaper and more effective/efficient way of delivering said music. the price of 7"s has priced this out of being useful for that argument. there also used to be exclusive b-sides on 7" singles...which would also warrant their purchase. i'm older, have been collecting for 20+ years, and i do not buy that argument for the 7" in the year 20211 point

Record Player Shelf
McCandless reacted to mitchard for a topic
As long as the shelf is pretty solid, I wouldn't expect the Project one to be leaps and bounds better. Have you tried isolation pads/feet for the turntable? I got a set of Tablemates awhile back and it definitely helped quite a bit. Any bigger stomps will still come across, though wall mounting might not prevent that either. https://tnrproducts.com/shop/tablemates-isolation-mounts-for-turntables/ The snap-in laminate flooring I installed in that room was a terrible choice. 🙄1 point -

I saw them in Chicago for their Plant A Seed tour, and yes i had to yikes at the $40 price tag. That might be a tour exclusive pressing ( I'm not sure) but I saw someone who purchased it and they were checking out the contents, it appeared to be already opened and the band have signed the insert that comes with it, so (i guess) that could explain the insane price tag. I also recommend anyone who loves their first album to go see their tour of it when they reschedule the dates! It was suuuch a good show and I'm hoping to see it a 2nd time.1 point -
