Damn dude, I cant help but want that "hopless" colorway. But at the same time I am not going to keep shelling out $35 shipped for yet another copy of the same 10" I haven't even heard yet! :'D Should mean there are lots of good copies out there for all the fans though and thats rad.

I'll be honest: I think whatever mailer you put these in, you're likely to see these kind of issues anyway. The packaging for the records seems...less than ideal. Not trying to take away from the frustration of receiving damaged records, but the only way I see to prevent damage on these would be to ship the record(s) itself outside of the cover, each with their own little sealed poly sleeve secured in place with some kind of adhesive, whether tape or otherwise.

Mighty mailers are becoming the norm and with the price of records these days, no one should be using anything else. With the price they're charging for vinyl and shipping, if they're cutting costs on mailers they deserve some backlash imo.

Lol its all good, I think I am a little more wary of that stuff than most people (aka I am tracking crazy). But here is a quick tip... if you want to go the extra mile. When copy any 'click-through' type link, from facebook, google, twitter, instagram, etc.... you can manually just shorten the link.. look for the "?" as a common indicator of when the real link ends and tracking info starts. So in this case.... "?fbclid=" shows that original links facebook tracking link back to its source and will affiliate its use with your FB user profile if your logged into facebook even in another tab. Huh? Tom was arrested after the album was already recorded, then booted from the band. They recorded it as a trio PRIOR to his arrest because he wasn’t involved with any of it due to his own personal issues, which lead to him being kicked out of the band during the tour when he was arrested for theft.... which all happened after the album was already recorded.

Another great episode of Creepshow this week! Continuing my love of 80's horror and anthology movies, I also watched: Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker: Ok but pretty forgettable in the kills department, pretty messed up in the story department. Don't Panic: I don't remember how I managed to pick out this movie. It was bad. Like, really bad but not quite "so bad it's good" territory. I can't figure out if parts of it were intentionally funny or what exactly they were going for. So many goofy montages, the love interest's unibrow, the main character running around in dinosaur jammies, the bad dubbing, and the lamest sex scene I have ever seen in a horror movie. Post-pandemic this is may be the kind of movie that you want to get really drunk and watch with friends and have a laugh. That's the kindest thing I can say about Don't Panic. Body Bags: Loved it. Nice three story anthology with John Carpenter as the "host". So many cameos in this. Perfect palate cleanser after the other two movies.

This isn’t new, and I don’t think anyone with a brain is buying records off there.

My theory is that the pandemic has saved wealthy people a ton of money they’d have spent on dining out and in-person entertainment. If you were doing great pre-pandemic, it seems like for some of those people things got even better. And those entertainment dollars are going into indoor hobbies that you can engage with via mail order. I’ve seen a ton of records that used to go for $35 on the secondary market jump to $100. And I’ve listed some of my own that have skyrocketed and made quick sales. Add in Vinyl Me Please setting expectations at $45 per new record for new/returning collectors and I think you’ve got a certain segment of the population splurging happily on vinyl. But I’m making all this up based on anecdotal experience so who knows.

If only red fang were actually good, those gimmicks might be more tolerable

The first album was tolerable because the vocals at least somewhat blended into the background. Here they’re at the forefront & doesn’t do it for me. Agree about the guitars tho.

It’s gonna be all gimmick records RSD release and UO exclusives so I’m not worried as those releases aren’t usually in my lane

The bump no one expected.... looks like this is getting a repress. Bad Timing put a story on their IG today. First was a test of this record, second was a test of BTR-69 which is yet to be announced, and then BTR-55, which is a repress of Kevin Devine's Between the Concrete Clouds

Just got my copy in CA, couldn't be more disappointed. Flimsy mailer with no reinforcement ended up getting crushed; cover has a 1" gash and creases all over; inner rings ripped through their slots so the gatefold is torn up. And of course each disc is scratched to hell - I can't even put it away without the 7" sliding all the way out. For anyone who wants to see the carnage. At least the CD was wrapped in bubble wrap 🙄 Emailing MerchDirect about my options. Maybe I'll get a replacement cover?

My inner 7” wasn’t properly set and came loose. Pretty scuffed and scratched. Not too hopeful of a replacement from merchdirect so hopefully my Revolver copy doesn’t come as fucked up.
