Oh no the sky is falling! I've been using this for months now and beyond the initial "where's my money?" confusion there's no difference or reason to complain. This is actually faster than manually transferring to my bank after it goes in PayPal anyways.

I had this happen a few months ago. Buyer paid for a record and before I shipped it said they found it cheaper and wanted to cancel. I said sure - I'll refund you minus the fees that I don't get back. They threw a fit and filed an item not received paypal claim so I just shipped the record, won the claim. They messaged me after they got it asking why I shipped it after they asked me to cancel the order. I told them because they filed a claim that they never received the item.

This is my biggest issue with the newer Ebay managed payments. I always liked the payments going to my Paypal, that acted as my own personal piggy bank, separate from the bank account shared with the Misses. Made it much easier to buy records like it was my damn job!

Why not just ask nicely if they can ship it in a box if you buy it? I don't understand the entitlement / attitude in the wording. Why is this so funny?

I preferred it going to PayPal so I could keep that money separate from the normal bank account money that’s used to buy garlic and pay the sewer bill.

By absolute sheer coincidence, 4 months after the initial shipping, the record turned up today! Although at the Merchnow office instead of my house but they have arranged a reshipping of the record. I really hope it'll make it this time, I'd be glad if i didn't have to pay 200+ for this 😅

Started using the managed payments in Jan this year and its totally fine, 1st sale using it is a little fiddly but after that smooth sailing. Also the new system without paypal taking their cut means you make even more from a sale if you have any listing deals (like $/£1 flat final value fee instead of the usual % cut).

Not sure anything tops a $47 House of Pain single LP.

Hey a quick detour from the hilarity of this business model (and hobby for that matter). I want this VMP edition quite badly, and want to do my best to *ensure* I get a copy. So to people with VMP experience.... Do I need to be signed up "BEFORE" they announce release it to have the best shot? OR... does it make sense to wait until its announced and 'start my membership' with the purchase of that record? I would hate to have like my slot already filled with some garbage I pick to start my membership right now, or vice versa be excluded from getting the Mars Volta LP because I am just signing up at the time of announcment. I only sell 2 or 3 things a month but I've had no issues with this. Money always shows up in my account within a few days of shipping them. I sell on ebay more than discogs only because of Ebay's Global Shipping Program. It makes it so much easier for me (and unfortunately so much more expensive for the buyer) to ship overseas. I do miss having my Paypal balance that I used for purchases so that my wife had no idea what I was buying especially since prices for some things have gotten so out of hand this past year.

Got shipping notification from The Avalanches store for this last night, so that's neat.

I've been selling on eBay for years and this wasn't a big deal to me. The setup was a kind of a pain but I've gotten used to not getting paid right away. I do much prefer selling on Discogs though since listing on eBay takes so much longer.

Eh. 9/10 times this is the type of "livestream" everyone has been doing so they can run through it a million times, get the audio right/good enough for vinyl, etc. Only actual live streams I can think of have all been Code Orange. Correction, New Found Glory and Underoath were as well I believe.

Don't forget Ebay charges the 12.5% fee on the shipping you charge also. For someone like me in Canada where it costs $20 to ship a record that's another couple dollars in fees. They also charge a 0.4% fee for "international orders" when I ship to the US. AND they charge provincial and federal tax on the fee. I just checked my last sale of a record and it was 15.88% in fees.

If the WEB version is the same as what is on the vinyl, Frontier Psychiatrist IS the original version but none of the other samples people were hoping to be restored are restored.

You're also guaranteed on a one month subscription if you sign up for something now before next month. They're just trying to conveniently skip over that. I do think they'll either disable new 1 month subs come June 24th or severely limit them though. (Given the $43 price it's not a bad idea to undercut the Clouds Hill black pre-order and just sell your black boxset copy for 40 bucks or whatever if you wanna look at them as being shitty for doing these on color vinyl now. Just kind of inconvenient this way, but the hobby.)

Their shipping item description says that it will be shipped in a flat rate padded envelope from USPS. I messaged them about it: Me: Hi. Just curious. The shipping info says that it's shipped in a padded flat rate envelope. Wouldn't it be better & safer to send it in a flat rate box? Thank you. Cheers! J. Their reply: If you want it shipped in a box that is not a problem. A few minutes later...they messaged me again: Them: Are You Buying J? My reply: I am considering it. Will likely make an offer. Their reply: Make it good. This wall within a span of not even 30 minutes. Just thought it was funny. Carry on.

Nice. Kaiji is really good so far. I picked up the complete series on blu-ray that Sentai just released. Crazy it never got an English dub. I’m also super excited for TigerLab to put out the OST. It’s fantastic.

Kaiji is on my watchlist. I still haven't started the newest season of My Hero. The shows I'm keeping up with are: To Your Eternity, Fruits Basket, Higehiro, I've Been Killing Slimes For 300 Years, Nagatoro, So I'm A Spider, and just binged what's available for 86. I still need to start watching Vivy though.

They never evolved much but im kind of glad. They’re always a good predictable listen. The new single sounds like it could fit on any album lol. also my youngest kids first show! We took our then one year old to a festival 8 years ago. They were the 1pm band. I have a soft spot for them.

Yeah, the requirement to put shipping amounts by weight/location is pretty awful. I just made it super expensive for international and put in my notes to either message me before or that I'll refund the difference after. The nice thing is people will often message before and can just have them paypal and avoid fees/taxes.

One good thing is, when someone buys a $250 record from me at 3am and then messages me at 10am to say their child stole their credit card, I can refund them from my pending payout with no charge. PayPal used to keep their transaction fee so I’d lose money each time I refunded someone who immediately canceled their “accidental” order.

After being hesitant to switch over and give ebay all that info I did it a few months ago and I like it better. Ebay lets you know when the person has paid, takes their cut and puts it in your bank account the next day. No? Ebay tells you when they've paid that you should ship. What's the difference in whether its ebay or paypal siding with the buyer? It's actually kind of surprising that its taken this long since Paypal spun off as its own company like 6 years ago.
