  1. It’s not the end of the world, but the professional thing to do is admit you fucked up, at the very least. It’s just that much more aggravating when the last band edition was supposed to be hand numbered and wasn’t. And now we don’t get the customer slip cover for the band variant. But on top of it to go back and edit it like you didn’t say it and delete all traces from it? That’s some ETR type shit.

  4. Been thinking about this lately as I’m down to about 200 albums I still really want to own. At what point would you stop collecting records? What would it take for you to stop buying records? Just trying to make some conversation here, sorry if this topic is dumb.

  5. Yeah I was wrong there and found it. I'll just let this situation go I just finished spinning the album and can't be mad.

  6. the tri-fold insert is in the band variant as well. What is causing a stir is the fold over numbered cover many of us were under the impression we would receive with the /100 bandcamp exclusive. Ultimately all 3 colors look great, the packaging is incredible and it's the best it's ever sounded, so I'm just mad about some phantom made up situation where a neckbeard off the internet tries to challenge me about assembling a band variant in order to sell it for more when in reality I'm probably going to die with this record and it will be my heir's issue to deal with.

  10. Mine arrived, and there is a tri-fold insert with band photos. Visually everything is absolutely phenomenal and easily the best record packaging I have received this year. Attention to detail throughout is awesome and I just keep staring at it all. I haven't spun the records yet as I debate the next step--because I did not get the screen-print. I emailed Matt at Steadfast to ask if there are any available and attached to the teal copies in the store. Although right now I am not sure I'd give up the three different colors of wax for the screen-print as I said previously. Definitely frustrated about the lack of screen-print wrap, but overall I think long-term I'll probably forget about it if I can't get one because everything else is so stunning.

  12. lol is this one of those one's where I'm going to have to go back and listen to the score? Movie sucked but maybe the score was good and buried underneath

  13. Don't forget about the part where you gaslight your customers. "Oh the band version was never supposed to come with them, that was exclusive to the labels." I mean... was it? As people have pointed out, it's not the end of the world necessarily, but it's the principle more than anything else on a release that's $47 before shipping. That advertised insert is nowhere to be found, either. Not trying to fit the role of the "bitter vinyl collector who just complains for the sake of complaining" – because ultimately I'm very jazzed about what I'm reading and seeing photos of, so far – but still a little disappointing and handled poorly so far.

Via Bull Moose "Thanks again for your order! We just wanted to let you know that the release of: Drug Church/TAWNY (Black in Beer w. Heavy White Splatter Vinyl) (810540032801) Has been delayed until Jul 30, 2021. It was previously scheduled for Jul 09, 2021. We’re very sorry about this!"

  17. I see she dumped a bunch of 1989 ish merch on her site. My guess is 1989 was going to be the next one, but something is holding it up (it seemed to be getting rolled out in the same way that Fearless was). So my guess is, they put out a Red announcement to tide the fan base over. Its rollout hasn’t been like anything she’s rolled out in the past few years. Not a single tease, or a surprise drop. It makes me think this announcement was a stopgap solution. The other thing is, they probably didn't want to take on another PO while people are still waiting for Fearless. If that does ship in August, we'll probably see the PO pop up in September.

  18. The Origamibrio & The Eye Of Time LPs finally arrived. Thanks again for your massive patience. Unfortunately the whole process at the pressing plants is out of our influence and due to Covid19 the situation for some weeks was even more tense than before.

  19. Of course I don’t have any way to prove it now, but I know there was definitely mention of the screen print on the band’s Bandcamp version. My copy should arrive today.

  23. So I totally forgot about wanting to compare the Loveless pressings. My digital LP finally came, so I compared the Plain, the 2018 MBV AAA pressing and the 2021 Domino digital. I did this blind because I thought it would be the most fair. To no ones surprise, clearly the Shields cuts are superior to the Plain. Plain sounds very good for being CD sourced, but you can tell the soundstage wasn’t as robust as it is on the 2018 AAA and the 2021 Digital. The lows also sounded better on the Shields cuts. The Shields cuts were also cut a bit quieter than the Plain, which I don’t mind. surprisingly, I could tell very little difference between the 21 digital and the 18 AAA. I have some pretty good gear (VPI HW19 with Grado Gold, Marantz 2270 and some vintage Polk bookshelfs), so maybe with something better or some great cans I could tell them apart. I think if you had to settle for the digital pressing, I wouldn’t sweat it unless the knowledge of it not being all analog as well has having a kick ass tip on sleeve is gonna eat at you. If you have a Plain pressing, I think it’s worth the upgrade, even the cheaper digital pressing.

  26. It’s crazy how wrong they are doing this and how as every release comes out the sub gets less and less valuable. They really played those who subbed in early.

  27. Seriously though. So many good FBR releases that are long out of print and their basically capitalizing on 2-3 years of emo nostalgia.

  29. Just be thankful that Jack didn't release a record with a similar album cover. Mind you wouldn't it be funny if he did just have a record cover with his meat and two veg hanging out that was just called 'JOHNSON'?

  31. When I finish what I want to collect, I guess. I only have about 2 or 3 more records from my younger days that I want an am waiting on reissues for. After that I'll probably stop frequenting this forum and reddit and just pick ups whatever I hear/find that I like. I'll be mostly out of the game at that point, just finishing off some older items I need to complete discographies.

  33. as a frequenter of absolutepunk, i just wanna reiterate that joe (the head of the "label") is indeed a monumental sack of douche. he worships jason tate and is basically the same person as him - arrogant, obnoxious, pontificating, all-around douchey, etc. don't give him money.

  34. I can save you the mystery – Steadfast confirms that the band version was never supposed to come with an over wrap. Not at all what I remember when placing the order, and it seems kind of questionable to have it absent from the most elusive version, belonging to the band itself… but; “I’m so sorry to share disappointing news, but the overwraps were exclusive to the two record label preorder variants and were not included with the 3 variant band version or the natural colored retail version. The overwraps were limited to ~800 copies and have all gone out with those preorders. I wish I had extras, and am really sorry for the bummer news. Thank you.”
