  1. A replacement belly band showed up today with a note inside: --- THIS IS A REPLACEMENT BELLYBAND Due to a proofing error, the bellyband sent with your collector's edition for It's All Crazy… was missing its designated LP number on the spine. This design element is crucial not only to the release, but to the others like it, as they are meant to be numerically grouped together in a collection. So for the posterity of this album and the other albums in the series you have been sent a new version of the bellyband to replace the one you initially received. Please feel free to discard or re-purpose the other bellyband originally included with your order. --- I hope you can read this as your collector editions are about to ship. When I flip my collector's edition, I'm gonna write "NM- Has both belly bands SUPER RARE £600"

  2. Glad I didn’t buy this, I can’t support someone who thinks the plural of vinyl is vinyIs.

  3. Agreed. And I feel that it's perfectly fitting that they kept it in the "family" with Nate coming in as their bands have always been intertwined esp. Old Man Gloom.

  4. Nobody can replace Caleb, but I think Nate Newton is a great fit. Really excited for the new record.

  5. Bummer yes, but the collection you have is truly epic! Personally I'm glad they are sticking around and making new music. The show I saw at the Bowery Ballroom in Oct. 2019 totally destroyed. Nate is a real beast with them. Brings a really nice element to the band, taking nothing away from Caleb of course, but Nate really is the one and only proper replacement.

  6. Those that remember me from the DF days have some idea of my Cave In collection. This jump to Relapse marks the end of my upkeep. I can't contend with the price or amount of limited variants they churn out. Fucking fifteen years of doing everything in my power to keep this collection complete, dashed away in an Instagram post. It makes me sick to my stomach.

  13. Actually thinking about it, I probably agree. Mylo Xyloto has some great songs, but the production sucks and some of the tracks are pretty big miscalculations. That album is still very interesting to me though, as in I've never found any info about one behind the scenes aspect: when they made Mylo and uploaded some snippet videos and gave some interviews from the studio it sounded like they where making a very quiet record (Wedding Bells, and as a general vibe at that time their christmas track Christmas Lights) which would have been quite a fitting follow up to Viva La Vida. At some point during production they seemed to have decided to go in an electronic direction instead of an acoustic one. Would love to know if the label had anything to do with that or if that was just where they wanted to take it. But to be fair to them, this may have kept them on the mainstream radar that they have managed to stay on until now.

  14. While most of my 7"s are from pre-2001, I do not. There are some peppered in from bands I continued to follow like Hot Water Music and some random stuff. But most of it is from my high school and college days. I have some heavy hitters in there that I won't part with - Early Revelation and NYHC was a passion of mine that I still spin regularly. I still haven't had time to start sorting through though. I have always prided myself on the notion that my records are not a museum piece - I play 100% of what I buy (though I impulse buy often and sell things a few months later). So, having a few solid boxes of 7"s that I'll never listen to again is counter-intuitive. Hopefully within the next six months I'll have it all sorted. And yes, Gray Matter is amazing. If you dig that record, check out the lp by Three (if you haven't already).

  16. ear plugs are a solid solid choice. not that anybody gives a shit, but i had a hearing test a couple of months ago and i still have perfect hearing after as many shows as i have attended, shows i have played, and after working in music venues for years.....all because of earplugs. i still get made fun of for wearing them at 38 and i still don't give a fuck because i can hear shit that none of my friends can
