There's no way they're bothering to put up the fees to get these pressed and only doing a festival-exclusive run. I expect online variants eventually.4 points

They don't have the Norma jean vinyl in hand, only the numbered fest obi. They are going to mail the record to your house, Jan/Feb was the timeline2 points -

Looks like I may miss a Evergreen Terrace set, just so I can find this1 point -
I have a feeling a lot of people are going to scramble for these and overpay someone on eBay or whatever, and then be pissed when they go up for sale online for 1/4 what they paid, minus the eXcLuSiVe ObI sTrIp I guess this assumes T&N and Unoriginal aren’t so stupid as to have such a convoluted and limited release for the first time pressings of such beloved albums. I mean, they pressed like 2,000 copies of O’ God the Aftermath in 2016 and it sold out.1 point

After waiting 45 minutes in that line, this pissed me off. $35 + shipping, for basically a pre-order. My OBI number was 108 at 5:30, so I seriously doubt they burned through even half of their 500 'copies'. The OBI even says 'First time on vinyl outside of the box set', so you know more copies are coming. Looking forward to ignoring that next two days' 'exclusive pre-orders.'1 point -

Very sick. TLOUp2 is one of my all time favs, will snag a copy.1 point -
Man if they do finally press I am Hollywood and make it furnace exclusive that will be such a bummer! Been waiting ages to own that on vinyl, near the top of my most wanted list. 😕1 point

This album is better than Palms but I still think Thrice should've stayed on hiatus or reformed under a different name. Doesn't quite live up to their prior catalog but I wasn't exactly holding my breath when taking it for a spin, so it was by no means a "disappointment". Strangely enough I feel like there's a lot of great stuff to be found in the verses on this thing, but the choruses feel like complete jank and completely pull me out of the song. I don't know how to describe them other than super left-field and-or forced. Which is still better than anthemic stadium butt-rock choruses, don't get me wrong. But they're the ultimate blue balls when the verses establish some A+ grooves or progressions... Riley and Ed definitely kill it; there were several standout moments where the bass shined, especially. Regarding digital copies: bandcamp has been a blessing in recent years but I get that it's not always an option unless you intend to re-purchase everything through the platform, digitally. I do enjoy that digital rips are included with any vinyl purchase though. That being said I've probably been downloading MP3s for about 2 decades now and I don't think I've once crashed a PC or obtained malware from them. Torrents are viable, but I lean towards P2P these days. In about 20 seconds I searched one to find this album and saw 6 complete rips in 320. I would bet top dollar that they're authentic 320s as well, and not some Youtube transcode bullshit. I completely agree that it's nice and occasionally beneficial to keep an MP3 collection – I maintain one alongside FLAC as best as I can – but I don't think it's at all "harder and harder" to find them online these days. Especially for bands as popular as Thrice.1 point
