I would just write pieces of a hypothetical score, and release them along lyrical "singles", or theme songs. As the Indigo Child evolved, I became obsessed with the world, its inhabitants, and their story. Though The Dear Hunter was working through the project's first full length, and we were all in love with how the album was progressing, I felt it couldn't be the introduction I offered for The Indigo Child. I threw myself entirely into writing a screenplay, dreaming of a way to create "Cycle 8": a cinematic prologue to the main narrative of The Indigo Child. Stars impossibly aligned, and with the help of an absolutely phenomenal cast and crew of incredibly talented people, the dream came true. It happens more than you think. IIRC O'Brother left a box of 300 7in in a field while on tour, the total pressing was something like 500. I probably see 2-3 bands/labels a year mention that they've found a box of unopened records.

Both Old and The Night House come out on blu-ray today. Really thinking of swinging by Best Buy and grabbing them along with a physical copy of The Haunting of Bly Manor.

It just dropped on Shudder in the past week. Edited to add - it’s 2 hours and 15 minutes long and more than willing to take that time to stretch out its legs a bit. It’s a slow burn until it absolutely isn’t.

Kitsugi is a great album. The only one I like after Plans. Narrow Stairs has a few good songs but some of it is horrible.

Man that tri color merge splatter variant is hideous. I wish these labels would stop with the terrible splatter colors
