Interesting to see so many people not like the last album. It felt like a love letter to the first three records for me and I have continuously returned to it and loved it.

I can’t really do the more recent Mount Eerie stuff. It’s a bit too voyeuristic for me, even though he chose to release those albums. I don’t like being sad if I have the choice. I lurk here and there and popped in last night to see some familiar users. I’m doing extremely well these days. Probably better than I have ever been and would like to think I am at the point where I can socialize in a more normal manner, haha. Hope you are doing well too. I guess only truly hardcore Co&Ca fans will appreciate this set. I get it...it's cool and all...and if I had maintained my completist mentality...I'd get it...but it would sit on the shelf or a box.

Glad this isn’t just me. I get it Spencer you are happy you can swear now. But all of the random F’s really take me out of the songs, and feel really out of place. Would be more enjoyable without.

Consider Afterpay in the 4 installments every two weeks. You’ll spend $67ish on way dumber shit over the course of 2 weeks, I can almost guarantee it. And while I’d never suggest to flip Microphones, the reality is that this boxset has mostly sold out in < 24 hours, and won’t be any cheaper down the road elsewhere. Unless you’re truly hurting on funds or trying to save for something more pressing, this feels like a worthwhile scenario to act now, dwell later. (Also consider that the money is going straight to Phil and his label which always feels good.)

I haven't heard anything about, in either direction, but I sort of think the answer would be no. I only say that because it appears as if the digital download is tied to a card that's included in the box. Album is decent. Better than erase me (which isn’t hard to do). The heavy parts are so good. The experimental/post rock elements are really well done too. I’ve always said UO would be a great instrumental band. Always love that side of things. What’s up with their fascination with saying “fucking” on this record. Like we get it, you aren’t a Christian band anymore. I just find it really annoying and juvenile.

I see the Vault price is going up $10 per package ($15 outside US/Canada). My annual subscription just renewed, so thankfully I dodged it for a year. But unless they up their game, blindly giving them $70 per package is going to be a big stretch for me. Some of the recent ones have been worth $40-50 max in my opinion. For $70, I’d want to see at least a 3LP, plus 7” or DVD, plus a proper extra (meaning not just photo prints or other paper).

I didn’t hate the last album, but I didn’t love it, either. Two songs would make a personal “Best of Coheed” playlist. As for new songs, Shoulders grew on me after a couple of listens, but Rise, Nianasha really didn’t appeal to me at all. Looking forward to hearing more. Hope it’s good.

So 3 weeks later and I actually started doing something about this. It's still in the tinkering stage but I'm open to suggestions, especially this early on. The thumbnails are manually added and will make the doc take ages to add rows, if you have 800+ of them. I'm thinking of a way to compress them into a static gif, or just modifying the design to not use them at all. It'll be a dream machine for anyone with a modest collection. Open to suggestions. If anyone has a genius way of fetching Discogs sale values, please let me know. Right now it's entirely manual and such a pain. More to follow.
