I feel like most people in this thread are just expressing that they don't find it to be a very special release compared to what's already out there, and you're getting way bent out of shape by it. Eh. I think it depends on the artist. For the Frank Ocean's and Tylers of the world, yeah they should just announce when it will be there. For the small bands that are barely breaking and ordering 300 copies, I'm fine with pre-orders. Imagine fronting $4,000 in hopes you'll get it back in 9+ months when no one cares about your tiny bands EP anymore and you're working at the local pizza place. That's quite literally like die or survive money right there.

I'm very impressed and happy for them that after a 3000 unit first press of a new record which comes after 9 years of silence, it needed a repress before the release date. Wish this band got the recognition they deserved in their prime.

It took me many many tries to get the apple music to sync correctly. My biggest recommendation is to only add a little at a time. If you do what I did and drag the whole library in it fucks everything up. I had to manually remove all the uploads from my library on my phone album by album before I learned my lesson. I literally wasted three months getting it to work properly. Even after I figured out how to do it properly it wasn't until I got to the letter D that I learned there is a cap of 100K songs in your library... I'm sure that cap will lift some day (maybe by now), but I'm slowly going back through and weeding out the low priority shit.

I gotta' tip my hat to whoever is cranking out those AFI boots and reducing them to 1 LP, now. They've effectively cut down their vinyl costs and materials by half, while still appealing to the overwhelming majority of bootleg buyers who are fixated on simply having the record on their shelf, and maybe snapping a pic for social media. Between that, the egregious MSRP that's rationalized because "it's better than OG prices bro", and the illusion of limited quantities or timed drops – everyone feels good about getting in on those, right? – they're actually pretty big-brain and I can't even criticize them for it.
