I saw that earlier. And then I couldn't for the life of me even remember anything of that soundtrack (I only remember when the blonde is singing) and decide that probably didn't warrant dropping $30. I watched The Sadness a bit ago (which is coming to Shudder in a week or so) and it's a lot. Like, *a lot* a lot. It certainly is not for the squeamish, and if you have buttons to press it'll certainly press them. I don't know how I feel about it - it's effective, but a rough watch. I have other thoughts but they get a spoiler-y.1 point -

Everyone keeps saying this sounds bad but my copy sounds pretty fucking good so I'm not sure what to make of that. It's an RTI pressing too. Igor sounded mid at best yet I see only praise.1 point

PO: Bartees Strange - Farm to Table

New pitchfork interview dropped yesterday. Love this dude even more. https://pitchfork.com/features/profile/bartees-strange-farm-to-table-interview/1 point -
I'm just so glad I locked in my price. I've been trying to be extremely sparing with my overall expenditures and have limited my record purchases drastically. I knew I had to get these so there was no two ways about it but I wanted to do it as inexpensively as possible. These are also one Barnes & Noble for $24.99. https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/oxeneers-or-the-lion-sleeps-when-its-antelope/37567026?ean=0045778221318 https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/easter/37567027?ean=0045778221417 I'm actually feeling seriously fucked off by Jade Tree for not having these in their store like they do with pretty much all of their other recent vinyl reissues. I was really looking forward to that $18 to $20 price tag like the rest of their single LP black editions of reissues.1 point

Just received my clear splatter copy yesterday, however it shipped from Massachusetts and I live in Massachusetts so that might be why. But at least seems like they are slowly going out.1 point -

Doesn't seem like these are actually shipping. Mine has been on 'label created' for a few days now. Has anyone's actually shipped out?1 point -
Really really loving Hatchie. That song is such a dreamy shoegazy pop perfection. Prompted me to check out all he rmusic and really enjoying it. Thank you for posting. Now...should I nab the coke bottle clear from Electric Fetus or Sanity (since it's signed)...?1 point

With you on that Regrettes pick.1 point

Some recommended April releases... Hatchie - Giving the World Away There are a few variants, all of them with holographic sleeves. IMO, the indie variant on coke bottle clear goes really well with the artwork. A solid sophomore album. Lucius - Second Nature Many different variants but most of them are some mixture of pink & purple to go with the album cover. Can't go wrong with the standard variant on translucent pink. I really enjoy the disco direction they went on a few songs. The Regrettes - Further Joy I think I posted about them before. Their new album had a limited pink variant as an indie exclusive. Their poppiest album yet and my favorite album of the month. My favorite song:1 point

COMING SOON: Gospel - “The Loser”
blueeyesgetboring reacted to thetrackt for a topic
yo I'm not trying to be any kind of way here and I rarely post but wanted to share. I have recently heard the Loser LP in full... all I can say is everyone is in for a treat that is well worth 17 years of waiting. The record is Gospel at their most aggressive, discordant and captivating. The label talk of it being a 'masterpiece' is 100% on point. All 8 songs are barnburners and rest assured: they are all Gospel through and through. I love this band and am so thrilled that they are still doing their own thing with reckless abandon or care for our expectations. I am truly blown away and excited for you to hear it too.1 point
