Whoa. Finally got shipping notice for AWKIF from the Paramore webstore.

You can still get vinyl $19 and cassette $8 from Holodeck. Elude is just gloomy perfection. Never thought I would like something like it, but it's very visceral for me. I’m starting to feel like high prices are driving me away at pre-ordering things. There are too many variants coming out after I get my PO in. Trusting record stores to have something in stock is becoming a gamble- even for big obvious releases. Half of the time a record I want gets included in a label’s [insert holiday] sale, so I feel like an idiot for paying full price. I want to support and pre-order everything of interest like I was 3 years ago but nobody is making it easy anymore.

My Amazon arrival date moved up from 5/20 to 5/18. Still skeptical of that.

Ordered it early from Amazon but once it didn't ship and the expected by date went TBD I pretty much knew I was dead in the water. Grabbing it for the same price while out and about on RSD was the move.

Long shot, but if anyone is willing to part with their blue in clear copy for an unopened yellow splatter and significant $$, PM me.

I kind of realized I would likely never be in the mood so I just went ahead and took the plunge.

I don't have much complaints about the Rhino reissues I have but I haven't heard the holy grail pressings. Out of my budget.

The consensus seems to be that the original Vertigo presses are superior to anything else. I have US first presses of all the Ozzy era stuff and they sound pretty good to my ears. I've never had the pleasure of listening to any Vertigo pressings though.

That's really nice. I never tire of that sound. It can even drift into the doom & metal / psych arena and I'm down for it.
