Got my yellow copy over the weekend but I won't be able to listen for a few months due to a move in progress. Still salty that the screen printed gold, the only good looking cover variant and the one that looks closest to the original cover, was an event exclusive.1 point -

Norma Jean - Bless the Martyr & Kiss the Child
meatrocket8 reacted to jewfro for a topic
Just got another e-mail from Merchnow: Thank you for pre-ordering a Norma Jean and/or The Chariot record on vinyl. We have just received an update from the vinyl manufacturer that the vinyl has (again) been delayed in production. They are now set to arrive at our facility by the end of August. Orders will ship (in full) as soon as possible after the vinyl arrives at our facility, and cannot be sent in separate shipments at this time. Looks like these won't be shipping out til early September.1 point -

MATH POP time. Which I think just means "just bit emo/indie with some fancy, angular guitar work now and again' but think it sort of fits the bill. Is it the BEST? No idea! I'm just keeping the thread alive! https://fesband.bandcamp.com/album/with-regards-from-home1 point

Aux 33 Tours is probably your best choice. I live nearby. Check the photos on Google, they have stuff for everyone. They also have a few CDs and cassettes if that's your thing, along with vinyl accessories and sleeves.1 point

Best Ever Math Rock Album
rabbitvinyl reacted to chunkrock for a topic
A little shameless self-promotion here. I joined a math rock band 6 months ago and we just released our new album. We did a pretty limited vinyl run if anyone is interested. We've been described as being "Tera Melos for stoners" by Fecking Bahamas. https://babylabour.bandcamp.com/album/kissin-hands-and-shakin-babies1 point -
Ive only got about 20 hours on the Technics and I made massive speaker and amp upgrades so hard to tell actual difference. i figured if i went with a Rega or some other belt drive option i would never again try a direct drive so wanted to give it a shot. No deficits though and its sturdy and sounds great1 point

yeah i wanted to move to a direct drive. ive loved my TT15 but my son accidentally broke the stylus on the clearaudio cart shortly after i bought it and it was too much to get a new one so I bought a Grado Gold (still great) and enjoyed it fine. Very aesthetically pleasing as well, just wanted to make a change. Also, a bit finicky with the motor position, occasionally would get a little too close to the body and would make a hum (there is a hole cut in the chassis that fits over the motor but not to touch it - like a game of operation). not a deal breaker just something that annoyed me1 point
