Bleeding Through “This Is Love, This Is Murderous”
Justinadamk and 3 others reacted to mattisr1984 for a topic
do you want this to become the new normal for vinyl? because this take is how it becomes the new normal. im not arguing against the existence of NFTs (if someone wants to buy them, go for it) but im definitely arguing against having to buy a $62 record because its packaged with an NFT. the day that it would cost me over $300 to order 5 new records is the day i stop buying music entirely. a couple other points worth considering... 1. this is being done by revolver magazine, who has been around for about two decades, but its only in the last few years they have been pushing their way into selling records, merch, etc. and it looks like they only put out 4 issues a year now. dunno about you, but im not really interested in propping up a business that's in an industry that is slowly circling the drain by buying $62 records that would cost $25-30 (ill grant you, maybe $35) if literally anybody else had pressed it. 2. trustkill and revolver have cross-posted promoting this release but there's complete silence from the band themselves which tells me everything i need to know about how they feel about this release. not surprising considering their past with trustkill, but still a confirmation.4 points -

From the inbox: September 29, 2022 - Parlophone Records proudly announces DAVID BOWIE: DIVINE SYMMETRY, a four-CD, one Blu-ray box set and digital equivalent. Two books accompany DIVINE SYMMETRY, a 100-page hardback book featuring exclusive memorabilia and photos, alongside a 60-page replica composite of Bowie’s notebooks from the era featuring handwritten lyrics, costume drawings, recording notes, and set lists. The sleeve notes were written for the release by Bowie expert Tris Penna, along with contributions from Hunky Dory, including co-producer Ken Scott, lifelong Bowie friends Geoff MacCormack and George Underwood, singer Dana Gillespie, guitarist Mark Pritchett, Friars Aylesbury promoter David Stopps, publisher Bob Grace, and photographer Louanne Richards. 1971 was a pivotal year for Bowie. He signed a record deal with RCA, met Andy Warhol, Lou Reed, and Iggy Pop while in New York, became a father and penned the song "KOOKS" as a show of paternal pride, and played live for the first time that June with Mick Ronson, Woody Woodmansey and Trevor Bolder. PO: Paramore "This Is Why" 2/10/23

This sound will definitely have to grow on me. It sounds a lot like Hayley's solo stuff which is fine. After Laughter was quite the sonic departure as well, but the melodies and song writing were top notch catchy. This is obviously in more of the 'artsy alt' realm. Interested to hear some others from the album **UPDATE** Upon several listens over the past few days, can say the song and their direction has definitely grown on me. Kinda hoping we get a darker side of this sound on the album too. If Paramore is the new Radiohead/Bloc Party, then I guess I'm here for it lol.1 point -

Please stop this deluxe nonsense, we are in a recession, inflation is fucked up, and what do you do?? "let's add 4 alt versions of already known songs and an etched d-sideto make a 2xlp and a slipcase for 40+ bucks" Please labels stop doing this shit.1 point -
It's a disgrace the first pressing is tied to NFT's and an unnecessary upcharge. If only consumers would band together and not buy this crap.1 point
