Perhaps I got overly worked up and offended, for that I apologize. In this very particular case, this is exactly how the band wanted to release the product and they have final say over anything we put out of theirs. The standard edition is still very widely available as well, but they did not want to do the bsides/acoustic songs as their own release. In regards to a $30 LP, we aren't at $30 for a single LP but we try to keep our prices as low as possible, but in a post covid world production costs have soured and unfortunately there's only so low we can go.

Good lord. We’re at 8 exclusives now for a 20 year press of an album that was still relatively easy to find? I love this band but this might be the most “state of vinyl” thing I’ve seen and wasn’t expecting it from them.

It looks like Bandbox has an exclusive coming in March. I just noticed this morning when I was choosing next months selection. I don't believe they announced this yet either. Outro to the closer is absolutely phenomenal. There's a reason this band is one of the greatest.

I really hope that mock-up is a loose interpretation of something like a white “cloudy” marble. Because that putty grey variant is probably one of the worst vinyl colorways of all time. I feel like I haven’t seen it in years. (And haven’t missed it.)

Haven't spun my copy yet, just got it in today. I smoked a bowl and jammed it last night and it's incredible. The first and last song are definitely my favorites but the whole album is sick. There's a lot of Godspeed You! Black Emperor post-rock moments that I'm 100% eating up.

Bought my ticket. I'll be there. Legitimately the most stacked lineup I've seen (pertaining to my own tastes) I think the only two bands I haven't heard are UI and Tsunami. Even Rex I'm stoked for since I'm missing them when they play my area in October. AND WE'RE SEEING THE HATED AND IDA?! WHAT YEAR IS THIS?

The only reason this version of the album happened is because the band wanted to do it. They like the b-sides and the acoustic versions and wanted it pressed and wanted to re-vamp the physical packaging. Saying this has zero effort from the band/label is just flat out ignorant and disrespectful quite honestly, many people (myself included) worked very hard to make this version of the record. If you don't like it or think its stupid then just don't buy it but no need to throw around disrespectful comments when you have zero knowledge of what it takes to put out something like this, or any record quite frankly.

Would be very cool to attend to that, 100%. Just wish it was almost anywhere other than downtown LA. I’m significantly closer to it than you, Bronch, but I just don’t think it’s in the cards for me. Settling for that Unwound tour early next year and maybe crossing my fingers that Codeine will take a page from Duster / Unwound and either start touring or recording again. 🤞

I would prefer 12 Bar Blues or Happy in Galoshes, but I will probably buy this even though most of these versions are terrible and I rarely listen to Christmas music.

I'm dying to see Chai. I get the feeling that since PINK they're more of a stage show whereas before it was more of a band experience, but it's only a hunch. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see them and I'm sure I'll love it no matter the format.

I thought I saw a teaser – screenshot from an Instagram story – that had a mock-up of white vinyl with black splatter or wisps or something similar. I don’t necessarily need another copy of this one but I’d sell mine and upgrade if they did a coke bottle green with white labels. The dream. Throw in a booklet and fuck up the design of the spine, and I’m fully in.

Think the Transparent Blue looks better as well. Probably going to cancel my order from Thrill Jockey and go with this one instead.
