The blink stream was a little weird with no audience, but the limp bizkit cover sets last year were AWESOME, and that's coming from someone who never liked LB. That whole show was one of my favorite of the year last year. Plus it's just a special Halloween thing, it's not like they're constantly trying to do stuff like that. Also they definitely have been working on new music. Sister Cities came out in 2018, it's not like they're overdue for an album or anything like that.

Yeah i also forgot that i had preordered this... whoops. After listening through it twice, it's okay. The highs are high (there's a couple good bangers on here) but there's also a lotttt of filler. I think there's a shot if i give it more time then i'll realize the songwriting is better/more mature than prior albums and it could grow on me, but that's also not exactly what I look to Pvris for, so idk how i feel about it.

I was able to run out at lunch at grab a signed CD as they popped up at Newbury Comics locations all through Boston today. Really really pumped I got one after missing out last week.

Love the album, haven't spun my deluxe yet. Agreed that PVC sleeves aren't ideal, but oh well.

The real problem is that #1 "in the trees" is definitely the best cover, but it's the only non-limited variant and i'm a sucker so i need to get a limited one. i just can't decide between 2, 6, and 7.

Sad how poorly the roll-out has been going. I am really rooting for these guys, but it feels like the new label is giving them absolutely no help.

Yeah if this was $20 at a show, sure... but can't justify almost 40 on something so goofy.

My concern with this is that Japandroids live shows are more about the energy of the performance than say the musical quality. Are they going to sound good on a live record? I hope so, but I'm not so sure.

Unpopular opinion: I'll take NTTWHOL over Post-Nothing 10 times out of 10

It's better than I thought it would be, mostly because the production is solid.... but that being said, it's still bad.

After keeping this in heavy rotation for almost 2 weeks now, it's gotta be 3rd (maybe a low as 4th?) on my Menzingers discography rankings. Which isn't a bad thing! It's probably still somewhere in 6-10th place on my year-end favorite albums list. I really enjoy the majority of the album, but it feels a little too on the nose at points and the upbeat classic-menzingers style songs are weighted towards the front. That being said, i think mixing in a couple of the slower more americana-y songs in the live show will really complement everything else they do. Excited to see them (for the 6th time) in December!

Haha, yes it's middling and just decent and not great.... I'd say it's their 4th best album, which of 5 sounds like a bad thing. But that being said, it means it's the best thing they've done in NINE years which is a big deal. (because very obviously Battle Born is the worst.) I never ever expected a Killers album to come out and compete for a top 3 spot in their discography, it just isn't realistic. It just had to be better than Battle Born, and i think it's a lot better, and I'm pretty happy with it. More than anything else, it means a tour where they'll play like 5 songs off of it and all of the hits and i care about that much much more.
