LOCRIAN - THE CRYSTAL WORLD 2XCS Limited to 100 copies. Pre-order up now: http://www.utechrecords.com/ -
And if they actually knew how to pack a record. I hope they've gotten better over the last few years - the last time I ordered from them was the Mixtape 4 cass (shipped in a normal mailing envelope, showed up shattered) - but every time I've gotten a record from them it's either been damaged in shipping, or showed up alright only because of luck. They don't seem to know that either 7" or LP mailers exist. Of course, for things like this (if you're not lucky enough to live in a city they're playing close to) they are the only game in town.

Awesome - ordered. Really digging the new album - the second half in particular. Glad to get more stuff from these sessions.

A quick update for those who are holding out to see what the extent of the damage to the boxes are (or at least an example or two) - despite receiving shipping notice last week, it was only this morning that the package was actually delivered to USPS and changed to "in-transit" for me on the USPS site. So I will probably see it early next week, Saturday if I'm particularly lucky. 32 remaining in the store, so it seems like they'll probably still be around.

PO: Andrew Jackson Jihad - Christmas Island

I like the new one quite a bit, but I don't think I like it as much as either People... or Can't Maintain. I think that a couple songs from this and from Knife Man are some of the best they've done, but I don't think the albums in their entirety are as strong. -
Possible EARTH represses?

It's been a long time since I ordered from SL directly, but damn they've gotten great at packing records. Almost everything I used to get from them had corner dings thanks to lousy packing, but the corner guards they're using now are great. Sleeve is absolutely perfect. Now I need my kids to go to sleep so I can throw the headphones on...- 161 replies

To be fair, I believe everything Gira related purchased from YGR directly is signed by Gira - even the CDs of old Swans albums (and all Angels of Light releases) show they come signed. It's a nice touch, and means I basically always buy directly from the source, even when cheaper options are available.

I don't know if I did or not, I didn't notice one - for those of you who got one, was it separate from the 3LP packaging, or stuck in it? I picked up the 2CD+DVD set along with the 3LP, so it's entirely possible I didn't get an "extra" DVD because of that though.

PO soon: Earth - Primitive and Deadly
iwokeinrelief replied to ExtraFox's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I'm tentatively excited for this - I think Lanegan is a really good match. I'm completely unfamiliar with Rabia Shaheen Qazi, but might try and look up the Rose Windows stuff. New Earth is good Earth. -
Thanks! Hopefully they'll still be playing some of this stuff in a month, but I'm sure it will still be great if they don't. I think they played one song off "My Father..." when I saw them tour off that, and mostly new stuff otherwise, and it was an amazing show. I just keep hearing stretches of songs and thinking "I would love to be pummeled by that live".

Wow, really? I don't think I've even had a hold put on my card by Amazon. Haven't preordered anything from them for a while though...
-
I was completely sure I'd never own this - I could never convince myself to spend full price on it, and when it sold out I figured I'd never see it cheap secondhand (the only hope of which was if TRL ended up with a ton of stock they couldn't shift). But $125 for this beast? Worth every fucking cent.

I'm almost certain Amazon only charges on pre-orders when they actually ship, so you likely weren't charged to begin with.

I'm loving this album so much - the more I listen to it the more excited I get thinking about seeing some of these played live next month. Not sure how it compares to The Seer for me, but have loaded my CD copy in my car for a refresher. GHOSTDRONES, do you know which of the new tracks they plate when you saw them?
