213041284s got a reaction from WAXXX in what's the most you've ever spent on a record?
190 on a copy of Deja Entendu. Never spent over 100 on any record in my collection, not even really close to that either

Ended up selling it a while later for twice that, so I don't feel so bad anymore

Wow, you guys.... relax. Obviously you all knew what I meant.
And yes, its 2015... are there really any people against gays left? That's so dumb.
Homophobic people are the lamest (gayest is the term we would have used in high school, but I do try not to use that any more because people get so uptight over it and we have to have a dumb sidebar like this whole thing).
Not sure why gay used in that context has nothing to do with homosexuality any more though, but that's just how it developed.
Nobody makes fun of gay people, and if they do, they're a fucking faggot who needs to get with the times.(watch South Park)
Anyway I have to get to work.... Deafheaven rules, gay people are just normal people too, people who hate gays are stupid, vinyl is awesome, blah blah blah.

Totally happened to me too, but I didn't go that far haha.
I actually just finished listening to "Roads to Judah" on vinyl (spinning the new Baulta record now ) and I have Sunbather in my car at the moment.
I know this might sound gay or whatever to those hardened internet collectors here, but Saturday after a long, grueling day of work I was listening to "Dreamhouse" on my ride home. The ride is short, and I got to my driveway about halfway through the song. Turned my car off, and just sat there with "Dreamhouse" finishing at full blast.
The bridge fucking made me cry. It was so bizarre. The emotionality of the music just fucking engulfed me, and I started crying. It was kind of amazing. Not like a bawling emo-sissy thing, but like... kind of what happens when you watch soldier homecoming videos... just a sweet, emotional thing.
This band is so good. I love that they actually use real production on their albums, and not the sampled mechanical sound most metal bands use today. I hate that shit. The drums sound like actual drums played by a person.
These guys are high on my bucket list to see live. Could you imagine a show with like, Deafheaven, Junius, Rosetta, and like, sleepmakeswaves or something?
    drool...

despite the tacos in this thread, it's worth mentioning that the expensive src reissue of jimmy eat world's "static prevails" is included in this sale.

213041284s reacted to EarlsVintageVault in Mondo Records / Deathwaltz Records
So, I am sure I am not the first person to ask opinions on them guys, but what is everyone's take on the stuff that is put out by Mondo / DeathWaltz ?
It's always high quality, often rare our OOP stuff.
It seems to sell out very quick when it's a limited pressing (not surprising) but,
is it just appealing to a collector's market ??

I have 2 or 3 pressings from them, again, quality is super. Artwork is awesome. Prices are (generally) fair. Customer service has always been great.

Does anyone have an opinion if anything (limited pressings etc) is worth getting for collectable value ?
I know when the Batman TAS 7" discs came out in 4 varieties, they quickly become valuable and have stayed relatively pricey, they were quite inexpensive when released (12 USD i think ?).

I buy and sell, but like comic books, sometimes you want to put something 'away for later', just in case of course.

If it sounds the same as the CD then maybe it's a flat recording, not an issue with the pressing.

Yeah the fake video review is so thinly veiled.

The only thing dumber than them sending out dollar bin records for $25 a month would be for them to send out $30+ records for $25 a month.

The easiest way to avoid these ETR-related moral and ethical quandaries is to not listen to mid-2000s pop punk.

I'm pretty sure VNYL was meant as an "in and out" business, where they get in, make as much as they can as quickly as they can via a strong marketing push, and then get out and add VNYL to their entrepreneur résumé and use that cash for their next venture. Building a slow-building, organic, positive word of mouth and transparent customer support isn't necessary or beneficial to burning through subscribers who will prob buy 1-2 months and then cancel.

Today, when my mailman dropped off my package, he had a five o'clock shadow and bloodshot eyes...I've never seen him so agitated and disheveled. Should I just call Amazon and ask for a refund? Or should I go outside and see how the package is first?

Here's a link to the CD pre-order, directly from the label:  http://caldoverderecords.com/

Vinyl release date is a long way off. Took me about 10 seconds to find that info in this thread, which is devoted to a pre-order AND discussion of the album.
