  1. Exactly! For me, forum restrictions:solutions for gun control::people who say "vinyl":school shootings. Look, I get it. People should know how to use a search function, should know that the plural of vinyl is vinyl, etc. etc. I know. But I just don't think it matters THAT MUCH when they don't. I don't think it warrants constant flaming or treating them like outcasts because they haven't been around as long. It's not hard to search for the answer to a maybe stupid question, but is it that much harder to politely repond and tell them where to go to find it? There are a lot people just getting into records. I think that's a great thing. Give them a break.
  2. Well yeah, I ended up calling Fall Out Boy clutter. But the reason I came in here to begin with was because I saw that the thread was at 33 pages. Now, having been a lurker here for awhile, I figured that meant something fun must have happened. Then I saw the stuff about n00b posts, and thought I'd offer my own opinion. I'm really not pissed, never was. I just think if somebody's going to act like an internet tough guy, it's alright to join in and do the same with an opposing view. I guess my mistake was forgetting this is the internet though. That's what I gather. So you guys go ahead and keep mapping your thought-out plans for forum restrictions, and I'll just be over here taking things seriously. Sorry, guys.
  3. Hang on, will somebody explain this to me? This is like the third time somebody used this as a response. How come it's not the internet when you're getting pissed about somebody asking a question you don't like? Why is it only the internet when you get called on it? And by the way, in my opinion, a thread about Fall Out Boy is clutter. But I wouldn't have come in here to say so.
  4. This band has not released anything that is less than incredible. Can't wait for the album.
  5. I'm really sorry for writing what I did. Makes everything really long when people quote it. The whole thing about limiting the ability of people to post or giving them a grace period or whatever, is incredibly stupid and the logic is pretty twisted (hey, how about instead of blaming a new poster for the idiotic shitstorm over a simple question, you blame the people who get giddy over being able to trash them for it) but I'm not gonna argue about it. Finally, I love Sink or Swim, Senor, and 59 Sound. Can't listen to American Slang, hated the Tumbling Dice cover, and I liked Handwritten when it came out, but it got incredibly boring to me after about four spins. Couple songs are great though. I just don't know what turned them so bland. The songwriting lost its edge and the music got pretty cheesy. I mean seriously, some of it is straight up Daughtry these days. I've always wanted them to find mass appeal because they really are four dudes who deserve it. I just didn't think it would happen at such a great cost to the music. Guess that's a lesson you never really learn when you love a band though.
  6. I just wrote how I really feel. And I only feel the need to say it once. I'm also not the one who suggested banning people based on their level of knowledge on a fetish.
  7. Man, you and Mr. ">25" need to get a life. You guys remind me of those dudes who get to the flea market at 5am with flashlights and then block anyone else from looking through the stack once the sun comes up. Because obviously THOSE people don't know shit, otherwise they would have gotten there earlier. Or maybe you're those mouth-breathing losers who stand in the record store looking up the going rate for whateverthefuck limited EP on your phones, only putting it back once you're sure some other fool won't get something valuable. Maybe you're not either of those. Maybe you're just regular, run of the mill assholes. Look, I've been buying records for many, many years. And I know that with any hobby, and especially this one, there are always going to be elitists and people who think the amount of shit in their collection puts them a level up. And to an extent, maybe it can even be justified. I've been reading this board for a long time. I bought some cool records from Virgil back when there was a store here. Back when Gaslight was good. I've been clued in on some really neat things that I definitely would have missed otherwise, because I just don't really have the time to scavenge the internet for pre-orders. This place is great. I really dig the help you all offer one another when it comes to finding things or shipping them or going to a show and buying a tour exclusive for someone who really wants it. That's awesome, and I thought that was the point of this place. But there's a limit to that fraternity, isn't there. That isn't available to someone who just got here because obviously, they haven't put in as much time and money as you, right? Therefore, fuck them. That's cool, and it's your prerogative to think on those terms. But you have to understand that it makes you a jerkoff. You have to realize that. Basically, I think it's important to remember that you're posting in a thread about a Fall Out Boy record being sold at Hot Topic. So with that in mind, I'm seriously suggesting that you take a step back and get the fuck over yourselves.
  8. Cool! Sounds like a good reason to be out 200 bucks!
  9. Making Whoopee is definitely a better title than Halloween. Hey, how do you guys think Brian Fallon rates the following three songwriters? 1) Mark Hoppus 2) Adam Sandler 3) Glenn Danzig ?
  10. Wow. I can't even imagine the incredible justifications that were made in the minds of the people* who bought this. Sorry, I don't mean to sound shitty, but if anything screams "collector mentality," it's this. Edit: SOME of the people.
  11. So is this gonna be super collectible since only about a quarter of them seem to be playable/even worth owning?
  12. This sounds good, I'd probably buy it. Speaking of, any word on a Dealing With Depression release? Been listening to that one a lot and if I had a tape player, I'd probably even play the cassette. Hell of a record, should be noticed.
