  1. Find yourself a reasonably priced copy of this 2LP boot and get it. It sounds surprisingly good.
  2. That's unlikely to happen but I'd totally buy it, and flip the discs as many times as I need to. They could release it staggered, in parts throughout the year. Regarding the 2LP release, it's indeed symbolic. They could have done a 4 LP out of it, Deutsche Grammophon is not a small company ffs. I could see this as a blu-ray audio release at standard resolution to make it fit, probably in a hardback book package. That would be nice. Doesn't matter though, spend an afternoon with this baby, you won't regret it. I baked some bread and had coffee all day Regarding the 8 hour (and 24 minutes) duration, like I said: the music is so good, you can't think of anything else you'd rather do. He's really outdone himself. But I could go on and on, so I'll leave it there.
  3. I've spent today listening to Max Richter's Sleep - the 8 hour version and it's absolutely amazing. It's so good, it's really hard to stop listening. I will buy the vinyl more as a physical token but the full download is the way to go; totally worth it.
  4. So what's the general consensus on Kallax? I'm looking at a 4x4 unit... Are they sturdy enough to be filled with LPs?
  5. ^^ This is the page https://www.facebook.com/starsofthelid?fref=ts but the post was removed. Keeping an eye on Kranky at this point.
  6. Fuck, I can't find the post anymore. Probably got deleted... someone spoke too early? I don't know but I'm pretty sure I didn't just imagine it It had a shitload of comments too, mostly from people who recently e-bayed the shit for $200+ ha ha. I'm sure they're coming but Y'all fire up Kranky's e-mail, I'm too lazy
  7. Stars Of The Lid re-presses of The Tired Sounds & Refinement of The Decline coming soon on Kranky (announced on FB)
  8. https://instagram.com/p/1ZxnXfP4Th/ A photo of a test press from Clint Mansell - really hoping it's The Fountain, but it could be Requiem For A Dream... start prayin'
  9. Thought I post this for anyone still looking for a copy... A local record shop still has this boxset, for $64 CAD. They don't have web mailorder but I asked and they will ship to anyone interested. The shop is Red Cat Records in Vancouver, BC. I wonder how many copies of this set were made; anyone know?
  10. World of Echo is a beast of its own and a unique album altogether - start with that. The others are more poppy, even a bit too disco for my taste, but judge for yourself.
  11. Here is a Kickstarter for 2 great ambient records. Samples inside. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2142627423/2-lps-from-invisible-birds-ingenting-and-asphodel
  12. Somebody sell me their Vol.1 and Vol.2 vinyl. For serious.
  13. I've had this bootleg - both the single LP and the double LP version. They both sound horrible, I mean the source is an old ROIO which is not very good to begin with. You're better off just downloading the ROIO. There are a couple of versions floating around the internet.
  14. Can you be more specific, or thorough? Any difference in sound between tracks? Does it sound deep or flat? How's the overall volume? I would like this release but I find it hard to believe it sounds "great" because the source is most likely the vinyl rip released last year.
  15. Wow, that's terrible news, I had no idea. So that means Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble has disbanded too?
  16. How is ordering LPs from Barnes & Noble? Are they any good at it?
  17. Here's why I will not buy from One Little Indian again. I bought all Bjork releases at once during the last re-issues they did, and paid that insane shipping tag for Royal Mail. Only to find that they have shipped them from Toronto where they have a warehouse for North America, for a lot less mind you. The warehouse sent them in a sloppy box via courier and I also got slapped with a 27% duty fee. In the end, that shit cost me cca. $50 per record. They are a great label, but they don't care too much about things like... maybe having a North American online store, or having adequate shipping options for overseas. I mean, with the warehouse over on this side and all. Now, I'm happy with my Bjork records, they make quality vinyl, but no more ordering from them... As much as I'd like these fruity frisbees.
  18. I will wait for these to hit other distros/stores. While their prices are ok, I'm not paying $100 to ship 7 records, it's insane.
  19. I will post my impression as soon as I get it. I've heard good things about it and they seem to be made by the same hands that bootlegged Slowdive on 2LP ("Creation - Japan Club") some years ago, which sounded damn fine for boots.
  20. No, the way to enjoy this album is while we're young or alive even. Y'all feel free to wait for Kevin's remaster whenever that comes, hopefully before senility sets in, his or yours. On a side note, these Creation bootlegs are not Japanese, they're made in US (just like the Slowdive 2LP's). Are people really fooled by a line of Japanese copy slapped on a bootleg?
  21. Got me a copy of this 2LP boot on white vinyl. There is also a version on grey/white mixed. See ebay, discogs...
