  1. Totally stoked on going to draft for the first round. I'm hoping the Kings make a splash of some kind.
  2. uhh, if by "crazy mo-fo" you mean flopper i would agree. Regardless of whether Artest flopped or not, he's the Mike Tyson of the NBA. He could eat Rondo.
  3. That sounds like fantastic baseball to me.
  4. Where was this vaunted bench in the two games in LA? Frankly, both games at Staples were games the Lakers by all rights should have won. We'll see. Nothing is predictable in this series at all. Certain players should regress others should impress and neither is happening. Either way, if someone doesn't close line Pierce once before the series is over while he's driving to the basket I'll be disappointed. Or maybe Rondo. Either way someone should get knocked down. Oh and speaking of which, someone should tell Rajon that Artest is a crazy mo-fo.
  5. So the Celtics can win all two-out-of-three and two in a row on their home court but the Lakers can't do the same? Bench players play better at home. And Gasol HAS to be better than he's been in the last 2 games. It was nice to finally see Kobe put together a good game. If that carries over and Bynum + Gasol play a smidge better the Lakers should be good. We shall see. Either way, I absolutely abhor Pierce, Garnett, Big Drool, and Rondo. They all only get yappy when their winning.
  6. First Dodger sweep of the Cards in a 3-game series at Chavez Ravine in nearly 22 years.
  7. Well, frankly, I don't see why they shouldn't. I don't think they're a lock to win by any means but if you're going to have one it takes planning. Being one win away seems appropriate time for planning. If Philly wins Game 6 I would imagine they'll put their plans in motion too.
  8. I see your point but in vast history of the MLB, more often than not its the hitters who figure out the pitchers last. Meaning, the pitchers start by throwing their default stuff, then the batters adjust, then the pitchers adjust. I do not think many hitters until yesterday were watching AAA film of him mostly because they need to focus on guys their facing more immediately. And, honestly, what happens in AAA rarely translates in the majors.
  9. D. Fish is massively ripped for a dude 6'.
  10. When Matt Kemp came in to the league everyone challenged him with fastballs and he went on a tear. They didn't know him, didn't know how much raw power he had but moreover didn't know he would chase sliders until there was no tomorrow. While this kid has massive amounts of raw skill and refined pitching talent I'm going to wait until August to make any kind of judgment on how good he'll be. My bet is he'll even out a bit as teams start to see him. That said, nothing he throws goes straight. His fastball has movement and he got a good amount of his Ks on non-fastball pitches. He's obviously got 3 MLB caliber pitches. He's the real deal but a) it was a pretty weak hitting Pirates team no one in the bigs has seen his stuff.
  11. Its true but had Ray Allen played to 100% of his ability, not the 150% he did in Game 2, the Celtics don't win that game. So to me, its all evened out now. One spectacular game by Ray-Ray and one horrid one. And, Kobe played like hell. Well, that might be strong but he shot right around 35% for the night. So if Kobe shoots, lets say, 45% he's got more points and that cancels out Fisher and we're all even. Point being, Lakers should have won Game 2 had everything been even and the Celtics could have won Game 3 had everything been even. But that's not how these things work.
  12. You can feel how you want but its pretty hypocritical to dislike Kobe for the same stuff Jordan did and in a lot of cases did worse. Jordan belittled, punched out, and verbally abused his teammates in a way that Kobe could never. If he did, it would be plastered all over the news. Jordan cheated on his wife. Jordan likely bet on basketball and was "excused" for a sabbatical playing baseball. Just sayin'
  13. Why? Because he's pissed off when his team loses? He's probably been asked the same question a few thousand times. Fact is, the Lakers shouldn't lose to any team in the West so during the regular season, when they do lose, its an effort thing. I would hope Kobe would be upset if the team loses because of a lack of effort.
  14. No shit. This is why I've never liked the Celtics, OR the Lakers. Kobe is probably the biggest baby out there, next to KG. Eh, Kobe yaps all the time.
  15. Paul Pierce just gave the Lakers some killer bulletin board material. "We ain't coming back to L.A." is what he's quoted as saying. Interesting.
  16. Sandler might be a big basketball fan but he's a Knick fan and so is Rock. I agree with the previous statement it was lame and made me want to see the movie less.
  17. I don't know, tons of people complained about the scratching on the back.
  18. It looks like all Stevie announced was the phone, did I miss anything?
  19. I don't necessarily think the fouls have been even so much as they've evened out. The Celts got killed in the first game, the Lakers in the second. Its silly. I actually am really growing to dislike the Celtics because KG, Allen, and Pierce all get yappy when they're ahead but quiet when they're not. Same thing as in 2008, they're a great front-running team.
  20. Agreed. Unfortunately, the state has always looked the other way with the petro-chem industry. While that hopefully won't continue, a large part of the problem lies with us. Not just "you" though. We as a nation are far too reliable on a product we cannot produce to match our "needs." The nations who do produce are nations "we" shouldn't be doing business with; nations like Saudi Arabia and Russia. The Saudi's have horrible human rights records and Russia is just bat-shit crazy lately.
  21. Are you counting that as a plus or minus for his career?
