I can't really speak to the quality of B's album, as I'm not even sure I've heard a single song from it. But every song on Morning Phase is great. Beck really is one of the last true artists in the major label game (writing his own songs, constantly changing his sound, etc.). I have a suspicion Ye is just out of touch on this one.
Prediction: Kanye backpedals, apologizes and features Beck on his new album.

But I can almost guarantee that it's the extra tracks that make this "deluxe", nothing else. I still don't have this in my hands yet, but from the pictures I've seen, it looks like heavyweight vinyl, maybe that's a part of it, too.
And to be honest, I kinda doubt there will be a re-run of these anytime soon. 1000 copies won't move very fast. So if anyone's holding out for a cheaper version, don't hold your breath.
I am mildly disappointed that the packaging isn't what we thought it would be, (especially at that price) but I'm just glad this exists, period.
